Affordable and Smart â Works Great with Alexa
This smart switch has been a solid addition to my smart home setup. Itâs very cost-effective, integrates seamlessly with Alexa, and works with the popular Tapo app, which I already use for other smart devices. Setup was straightforward, and I use it to control the lights in my garageâsuper convenient when coming and going.Occasionally, it doesnât seem to register when I give it a quick tap in passing, but that might be more about me not fully pressing it than a fault with the switch itself. Once you press it properly, it works reliably every time. The point of it, was to allow me to turn it on and off, with Alexa while in my garage/gym. There is no dimming, but my lights don’t dim anyways. It can be set to a timer if you need it to be.For the price, features, and performance, this is a great smart switch. Iâll likely be adding more of these throughout the house.

Clean, Paddle Switches with Great Connectivity, Reliability, Durability and Performance!
Tapo (the successor of Kasa) is one of my favorite affordable smart home brands for the wide range of appliances they offer to help you automate your home. They have a sensor or switch for just about every purpose, making them a great option for home security and surveillance as well! These paddle switches are super easy to wire in and set up with their app. The build quality has held up for me the past 3 years! These particular switches DO NOT DIM, but they DO have a Dimming option available in another product. They’ve always had excellent connectivity, so as long as you have a modern and powerful enough router for your home size & network device needs.I will mention, TP-Link is a Chinese company and has been known for poor security practices in some of their routers, as well as their smart devices pinging IP Addresses located in China for unknown reasons. Likely for analytics of your home network, along side their API, at best. That aside, I will continue to build my Tapo-Smart home, one device at a time!

Solid well made smart dimmer switch at a very fair price point
I have other products made by this company including all my security cameras. So, instead of downloading another app on my phone I stayed with TP-Link for a dimmer/light switch for my kitchen. The product is very straight forward and was very easy to install. It also comes with very good instructions. I have always liked TP-Links products and have several of their security cameras outside. This is the first light switch and I’m pretty sure the brand will continue to impress me. The price is fair for the product and now I am able to use the dimmer function to adjust the lighting either with the switch or from the app on my phone. Solid built sleak looking switch.

Easy Setup, Fun to Use, But Bulky in the Box
I picked up these switches on a lark, not sure if theyâd even work â but I was pleasantly surprised. Setup with the app was so simple that I immediately started dreaming up ways to use them. Next thing you know, Iâve got cameras in the horse barn and Iâm spying on the horses at night while they snooze. ð´Functionally, no complaints: they do exactly what they should and are easy to manage. The only drawback is physical size. The switches themselves take up a lot of room in the junction box, and since all the connections require wire nuts (no push-in style connectors), it gets cramped quickly. A single box is fine, but in a 3â4 gang box, space would be really tight.Overall, they work great and add some unexpected fun to my setup â just be ready to wrestle with the wiring space.

Great smart switches for the price. Works flawlessly in Home Assistant
These are great smart switches for the price. I use them with Home Assistant and they were very easy to pair. I simply added them to the Tapo app which only takes a second. Then I added the Tapo integration in HA and immediately they were there. They work well and they are quick, with no lag at all. One thing I will say for anyone using the Tapo integration in HA is be aware that you have to go into the Tapo app and click your profile to see the case of your email address. It has to match exactly. Took me a couple mins to realize even though I registered with all lower case the app added two capitals. Until I matched that it kept failing to authenticate.
Frugal but fair –
works well. not too hard to install either.
We installed a number of these in the house. Each one works great. After reading all wiring info and also looking at the reviews/posts it was pretty simple to figure out. The hard part was figuring out the wiring in the house. Once I identified that hot the rest was a piece of cake. So far they have worked thru a number of power outages …. which is why I bought them.

Convenient
They work well. They are configurable. I like to use the auto shut-off timer feature for outdoor lights. And I like ability to turn on those lights from the app. Very convenient.Update: two of the four stopped working within 9 months. One was fixable. I did a factory reset. The other had to be replaced. Whenever, I turned the switch on, it could not be switched off — not even with the physical switch. Once switched on, the WiFi connection dropped out entirely and the app could not connect. Once on, I could only shut the switch off by disabling the circuit breaker or pressing the restart button. Multiple factory resets were not able to recover the device.
