Customers say

The effectiveness and rodent repellent features receive mixed feedback – while some say it works well and keeps pests away, others report it doesn’t work on squirrels or mice. The battery life and sound quality also get mixed reviews, with some praising the good battery life while others complain about short battery life and a faint beeping noise. The product’s lifespan is negative, with customers reporting it rusts within two months, and opinions on value for money are divided between those who find it good value and those who consider it a waste of money.

    Update to changes
So, based on the mostly positive reviews I decided to give these a try. I even went above and beyond to prepare my car, as I had the engine compartment professionally cleaned to get rid of any trace of prior rodent activity. I placed one of these in the engine compartment using the ties, and the other sits in the cubby near the gear shift. For the first couple of months, I didn’t see any activity. However, one day I am driving and my odometer stops working. Then the check engine light comes on followed by the steering indicator light. And about the same time I lose power steering. Took it to our mechanic and sure enough, rodents had chewed through several wires causing the problem. Fortunately it only cost $270.00 to fix. I say fortunately, because our Toyota Corolla had $2,500.00 in rodent damage about seven years prior.Needless to say, these Ultrasonic Rat Repellants didn’t do jack!8/23/22I have an update and in turn, I am raising my rating. So, after they didn’t work as described, I decided to try them with the sound on (in Test mode). And guess what? After 3 weeks of parking it in the same spot, they did not eat the wires again. In fact, I see no evidence of them being in the engine compartment since the last episode. I will continue to use them with the sound on. If they didn’t work for anyone else in the Ultrasonic mode, then try them with the sound on. It has worked for me so far.

More likely a rodent attractor than repeller
In my experience, this electronic rodent repellant is utterly ineffective and worthless. I installed it under the hood of my vehicle, and soon thereafter, and just overnight, rats or mice ripped up the Mercede’s expensive under-hood insulation and used it to build a nest right on top of the engine, not far from where I had painstakingly installed this product. The attached photos show the nest, the mess where the rats had peed and the useless device. Very fortunately, Amazon provided GREAT customer service in sympathy and I could return it. (Note in the photos the chewed up under-hood insulation, and the useless rodent repeller nearby.)

The only one that really works!
I had a problem with rats building a nest in the engine compartment of my RV built on a Mercedes Diesel Sprinter chassis. I tried everything from professional solutions to various online hacks. Nothing worked until I purchased a pair of these. I placed them in the engine compartment. They immediately worked and after over 6 months there has been no rat problem. I also have a barn with a tractor inside that had the same problem so I purchased another pair and no more rat problem. I recommend this with max stars. I would give it more than 5 stars if I could.

They Have A Low Battery Alarm
I bought a newer truck. This can mean soy or plant based wire insulation (aka packrat food) so I bought a couple of these and a couple magnetic backed ones that flash only. It’s like a disco under the hood. These are harder to install compared to the magnetic backed ones as they have to hang from something (supplied zip ties). They do make some cool noises in sequence and one sounds brings to mind that of a rodent chewing or scuttling around.I would recommend hanging them from the loops that are not on the side of the battery as it will block the battery compartment. I did this thinking it would be easier is the battery was on top and had to take them down to change the batteries.About a month later I began to hear a faint beeping sound. I thought someone a few acres over let their car alarm go day and night and wondered if they were on vacation and when the battery would die. It went on day and night. Then a few nights later, with horror, I realized it was coming from my new truck. There was something terribly wrong and with all the computer components it is sure to be expensive.I read the manual finally and learned the door would lock and unlock by touch without pushing a button, how to unlock the floor mats, that the back window opens with a button and if I get stuck off road I can flip a switch and it will crawl out on its own, but I could find no reason for the beeping. This truck has a fit if there is a case of water on the passenger seat and it beeps if you change lanes without using a turn signal. I figured the computer was upset about something. But what?So I searched on line. There are dozens of forums and hundreds folks at wit’s end, paying thousands in diagnostics, gaslit by dealers and manufacturers, haunted by strange beeping noises coming from their trucks. The future looked bleak.Suddenly the thought came me that maybe these had an alarm. I looked under the hood again and one of them was clearly the source of the beeping. The relief was immense. The manual confirmed that they a have low battery alarm. It is a great feature.Recommendation #2 to read the manual.

    helps but not a solution
i bought these and place one around each of the 2 air filters in my car. it’s a hassle to replace the batteries especially the one by the glove compartment. in addition, they don’t seem to have any indication that batteries need to be replaced. nevertheless, they did reduce the rodent droppings under the hood, but not completely. therefore, they do not do a good job in preventing the rodent visits 🙁

Okay it is still flashing away after a few months and seems to be working or the cats have picked up their game. Non intrusive in engine bay and cable tied ( zip tied🇱🇷) to solid panel section.
