Frustrating at first. It gets better. I don’t regret the purchase (and the waiting)!
The item looked fantastic! I couldn’t wait to use it. The box and packaging were fine. When I took the item out of this box and laid everything on my table, I noticed a tiny imperfection. A very small piece of plastic from the housing that surrounded the main lens of the front camera just flaked off. It looks like an error of manufacturing. The guy I spoke to at customer service was kind and patient. I had to send the product back to Amazon. Now I’m waiting for It to be received by Amazon and credited to my account so I can place another order again. No fun. I wish I had better news. Not quite yet. The rear camera looked fine!Update: I have installed my replacement cameras. The rear was tricky because I do have a retractable sun shade. I discoveredthat my car’s real window has a slight bubble arch to it that allows me to position the rear camera on the glass and not worry about it getting bumped by the automatic sliding rear sunshade. I had to trim the plastic mounting stickers so that they would not touch the heated glass elements on the rear window, but it looks and works just fine.When it comes to installing the front camera and the GPS mount, I can say because of my own mistake to just make sure that the camera slides and snaps *all the way* into the GPS mount. If you are off by a hair, the camera will not work right.I found out that when you play back videos, you are going to get 1 video from each camera direction. For example, if you have your camera set to record in 1 minute loops, then when you have 5 minutes of driving that you would like to review, the app playback will show you 10, 1-minute videos. The videos will appear in chronological order. They will be shown in alternate: first a front driving video and afterwards a rear driving video.I can live without the artificial intelligence features. They make me feel like I have a backseat driver in the car! You can turn this feature off if you’d like. It is redundant of features that I already have. I wantto try to maximize all of the fancy features of the camera so I kept the HDR switch to on. When my playback videos seemed too bright or too dark. I just went into the settings menu and modified the exposure level to make a dark image lighter and a light image darker.The nighttime photo and videos are very, very good.

Night time recording is very good.
Pretty easy to set up if you pay attention to the manual otherwise there are videos on YouTube that can assist with setup. I do think that you need the filter for the from camera lens but unfortunately it is sold separately. Otherwise this is a pretty cool dash cam. My only gripe for the price is 30 frame per minute I think it should have the option for 60.

Great true 4K 30fps. Pretty easy to install whether you use their hardwire or OBD2 adapter kits. I would have given VanTrue a 5-star review, but after using it for a while, the bugs and gimmicky features are better left turned off. The sounds are really annoying and the voice used for alerts is in broken English. Would have been great if they hired a voice actor from the country they were trying to market to. Also, the lane keep assist and ADAS functions are intermittent. I was following a motorcyclist the other day and it thought it was a pedestrian. The only other issue I have, which seems like a possible problem is the SD Card Error. I don’t think it is an issue, it just seems like the card is full. And, rather than automatically reformatting the card after it’s full or asking if you’d like to format the card, it just stops recording and shows the message “SD Card Error”. I would also like to see an Android Auto and Apple CarPlay app that works with the camera so you can see the camera on the radio screen and alerts.

Ich habe mich für die VANTRUE S1 PRO MAX entschieden, weil ich eine zuverlässige Dashcam für vorne und hinten gesucht habe als ersatz für meine alte billig Dashcam gesucht habe – nach nun insgesamt einer Woche dauernutzung (auch viele Autobahnfahrten) bin ich sehr zufrieden.Der Einbau war unkompliziert: Die Frontkamera lässt sich gut hinter dem Rückspiegel platzieren, die Rückkamera habe ich mit dem mitgelieferten Kabel sauber durch den Innenraum bis zur Heckscheibe verlegt. Alles war gut beschrieben und das nötige Zubehör ist im Lieferumfang enthalten.Bevor man die Kamera auf die Scheibe klebt, sollte man eine Folie aufbringen (im Lieferumfang enthalten). Sollte man die Kamera dann irgendwann entfernen wollen (z.B. bei einem Fahrzeugwechsel), muss man keine Klebereste von der Scheibe kratzen, sondern kann einfach die Folie abziehen.Die Bildqualität ist sowohl tagsüber als auch nachts wirklich stark. Besonders bei Tageslicht erkennt man Details wie Kennzeichen und Verkehrsschilder sehr deutlich. Auch bei Dunkelheit liefert die Kamera dank des Sony Sensors brauchbare Aufnahmen – selbst bei Regen oder Gegenlicht sind andere Fahrzeuge gut zu erkennen.Man denkt beim Kauf einer Dashcam oft nicht primär an die Auflösung oder die Qualität der Aufnahmen, die sind ja nicht fürs Urlaubsalbum.Eine qualitativ hochwertige Aufnahme hilft dabei, einen Unfallhergang besser zu erkennen und z.B. bei Fahrerflucht den Fahrer ermitteln zu können. Ist die Aufnahme schlecht, erkennt man oft das Kennzeichen nicht. Es ist daher sinnvoll, ein paar Euro mehr auszugeben und eine Kamera mit gutem Sensor zu erwerben.Sehr praktisch finde ich auch das integrierte GPS-Modul. So werden Geschwindigkeit und Position automatisch aufgezeichnet. Im Falle eines Unfalls hat man also nicht nur das Video, sondern auch alle relevanten Daten. Der G-Sensor funktioniert zuverlässig und sperrt Videos bei Erschütterungen, sodass sie nicht versehentlich überschrieben werden. Das habe ich getestet, indem ich den Sensor sehr empfindlich eingestellt habe, dann reicht schon ein Bahnübergang und das Video wird geschützt.Viele billige Dashcams verwenden Akkus für den Betrieb. Das ist hier zum Glück nicht der Fall. Besonders hinter der Windschutzscheibe wird es im Sommer sehr warm. Dies führt unweigerlich zu einem defekten Akku oder gar zu einem Akkubrand. Vantrue setzt daher auf eine feste Verkabelung. Dabei hat man die Möglichkeit den mitgelieferten 12V Adapter zu verwenden oder das Hardwire Kit zu verwenden.Damit hat man die Möglichkeit, die Dashcam direkt mit der Fahrzeugelektronik zu verbinden.Die App von Vantrue verbindet sich per WLAN mit der Kamera. Dabei hat man die Wahl zwischen 2,4Ghz oder dem schnelleren 5Ghz. Alle Einstellungen der Kamera können über die App vorgenommen werden. Außerdem können natürlich auch die Aufnahmen von der Dashcam geladen werden. Toll finde ich dabei auch, dass in einer Mini-Karte unter dem Video die zurückgelegte Fahrstrecke angezeigt wird.Die App ist aber keineswegs Pflicht, es geht alles auch ohne Smartphone.Die Kamera lässt sich auch per Sprache bedienen. Ein einfaches “Take a Photo” und es wird sofort eine Aufnahme gemacht. Dabei muss man weder extrem deutlich sprechen noch besonders laut. Ich spare mir damit einen Bluetooth Button der sonst bei vielen Dashcams notwendig ist.Insgesamt eine sehr gelungene Dashcam, die zuverlässig ihren Dienst verrichtet und hochwertige Aufnahmen liefert. Wer eine solide Lösung sucht, macht mit der S1 PRO MAX nichts falsch.Anbei auch eine Beispielaufnahme von der Kamera.Aus Datenschutzgründen natürlich ohne unbeteiligte Fahrzeuge oder Personen.

Ho scelto questa dashcam perché cercavo qualità e sicurezza, e devo dire che non mi ha deluso. Registra in 4K con il sensore STARVIS 2, quindi anche di notte le targhe si vedono perfettamente. L’angolo da 155° copre bene tutta la strada e il GPS registra velocità e posizione in automatico.Molto utile il Wi-Fi 5G per scaricare i video sul telefono in pochi secondi e l’AI che riconosce le targhe. Con il modulo LTE opzionale si può controllare l’auto anche da lontano, una funzione che dà molta tranquillità. I comandi vocali rispondono bene e la modalità privacy è una chicca quando si hanno passeggeri.Con la memoria fino a 1TB diventa praticamente impossibile rimanere senza spazio. In sintesi, è una dashcam completa e affidabile, che trasmette sicurezza in ogni viaggio.
