Customers say

Customers find these headphones excellent for acoustic drumming, with good sound quality and effective noise isolation that protects ears from loud drums. The build quality is rock solid, and customers consider them good value for money. Comfort and fit receive mixed feedback – while some find them very comfortable, others say they start hurting after a while and are too tight. Durability is a concern as several customers report the headphones falling apart after a few months of use.

    Great isolation, good bass, comfy
I considered buying these for years, opting instead for ear buds. My ears are funny shaped inside so one is constantly falling out. Reluctantly I bought these. These headphones work great for me, but ymmv. They sound great, are reasonably comfortable, and do a fantastic job isolating. Man for the first time I can play drums AFTER another previously recorded passage and still hear.I’m amazed and kicking myself that I didn’t buy these sooner. They have very good bass. I would say they sound a bit bass heavy, but that works for and how I use them anyway.Only negative is the whole earpiece is connected to two very thin strips that if broken, render the headphone unwearable. At this price point, I’d like some extra support there.

Save your hearing! Good choice if can’t afford custom in ear monitors.
I was very surprised at how well the ambient sound was reduced. I am a drummer and I have tintinous. I really wanted custom in ear monitors (AT6 64audio) but can’t afford them right now. So this was my last shot before giving up 40 plus years of playing. I also bought a Berringer personal headphone stereo amplifier. ( I consider Berringer cheap and definately not pro equipment, but was very surprised by how well it worked and the quality). I used a monitor send from my mixer hard wired into the headphone amp. The music was clear with no distortion. I actually had to add my drums into the mix to hear them cleanly. When playing, I had no problem hearing the music at a reasonable volume (half of max volume) along with my drums. Definately no ear fatigue and it will protect my ears from addition hearing loss. I wish I had these when I first started playing in grade school. I added live vocals into the mix and they were clear and on top of the mix perfectly. So bottom line I really like them. The only down side is they are hot around your ears. (From sweating while playing) Small price to save your hearing!

    Fantastic Isolation headphones for drumming
Awesome for drumming! They fit tight around your ears and isolate well. The build and sound quality is excellent; they sound great and are rock solid; should last for some years.

These are NOT over ear headphones
I was in search of some over ear headphone monitors for my edrum kit. And while the noise blockage is good, these sit on top of your ears and are not comfortable. I found that the Alesis headphones are MUCH more comfortable and while they do not block as much outside noise as these do, once you plug the Alesis in, you can’t hear the noise from the drum triggers. The Vic Firth might be great for acoustic drummers who are trying to play along with a song, if they can get over the uncomfortable pressure they place on your ears.

    Comes as Advertised
I have been looking for “In Ears” and/or headphones for the last two years where:#1- What I hear (ie the click, tracks) cannot be heard out of my headset, to prevent microphones on stage bleeding#2- Where i can hear my own mix clearlyThis product does that! Yes, it is a bit tight and no it is not as good sound quality as the Sony MDR-7506.That being said; This is has solved the problem and I would say that the quality of the sound is very decent, where I would give the Sony MDR-7506 a 10 for sound quality , I would give this a 7 +/- .Quick note; I have been using the headphones with one ear out so I can hear how everything is sounding on stage to get a real feel. This still has solved the main issues and now the next problem is working on setting my own mixes on stage, which is a great problem to have!

    Good quality
First of all, these are not blue tooth. My drums sound great from the moment I sit down, because of these. Usually, your ears have to adjust to the high frequencies and the damage to your hearingIs detrimental. Sometimes I put an over head mic and run through my mixer to get the full kit sound.only thing I’m missing is some low end kick and I’ve ordered a butt kicker to solve that problem. These are not the most comfortable headphones, but you tend to get used to it. They will hurt your head after about an hour, It’s almost unbearable, but what do you expect from isolation phones, they have to fit tight.

There is a reason these are a standard for acoustic drummers
Super Hi-fidelity they are not, but they still are well in the good range, especially for what are intended for, that is protecting an acoustic drummer’s ears while still providing for an enjoyable playing experience. They do fit tightly, which I have to believe is good for isolation, but you will know they are on your head. These are NOT active noise cancelling, but rather passive noise isolating. You can still read the drums acoustically through the cones, but I find that adding just a bit from the drum mics in the monitor mix brings out more of the clarity and richness of the kit. Still, there is enough of the drums reading through that it would be very reasonable (in my opinion) to play just hearing them passively through the cones, at least playing inside an enclosed cage. Bottom line, I was surprised by how much I liked these, especially for the relative cost.

They’re ok – better option and much cheaper:
It’s ok for convenience even though it’s ‘industry standard’. I usually give these to someone else if they want to listen in but don’t really use them. They’re not very comfortable as they sit ON the ear instead of going over the ear. They are tight so block sound. But the sound is very muddy. What I do instead is use in ear monitors – MEE audio M6 PRO and then put ~30 db ear mufflers over them for true noise isolation. Much better sound, not muddy at all and total isolation. AND cheaper than buying these.

Can’t even hear my own mechanical keyboard when typing this!High clamping force? Maybe. I feel that the clamp is snug and secure and would work well headbanging. For reference, I have a big head at 61cm circumference, and I feel that they fit well.Quality feels very solid, no creaks, cable sounds or questionable material choices. However, the headphones are a perfect match for my purposes of mixing, gaming, studying in a noisy environment.

The only reason I bought these headphones was the sound isolation. And the job is done. I used to use Marshall Monitor Bt headphones for playing my Roland electronic drums. Marshall pair is amazing but you can still hear the hittimg sound on the cymbals. With Vic Firth pair the problem is solved, no sound but the cymbals’ digital sound. As expecting the sound quality is not that good for listening to music but for playing along they are perfect.
