The summer of 2025 was hot. If you live in the United States, you would likely agree with that statement. I originally purchased this unit in the manual drain variety and when I saw how quickly the large container became full, I knew that the humidity inherent to The Ohio Valley was definitely having an effect. By running this unit and religiously emptying it twice per day, I could feel a great improvement in the comfort of my home. AC units are the primary dehumidifier of inside air but this summer was particular hot and humid. That puts a lot of extra burden on the air conditioning system which not only increases utility usage but also increases wear on the air conditioning while decreasing its life. This unit was so effective that I moved it to the upstairs of my home where the second air conditioning unit provides service and purchased the self draining (pump included) style of this unit for downatairs. They comfort level of the home was greatly enhanced. I know I am using utilities to run these dehumidifier units but I’m also certain that the occupants of my home are more comfortable and I can adjust the bother of my air conditioners to a little higher setpoint thus offsetting the cost and decreasing air conditioner wear. It’s at minimum a break even and potentiall a net benefit and even if it weren’t, it is worth it to me in the improved comfort.

Iâve been using this Waykar dehumidifier for some time now, and it has really exceeded my expectations. It pulls moisture out of the air very efficiently and makes a noticeable difference in just a few hours. I use it in a larger space, and it keeps the air dry and comfortable without me constantly having to empty the tank. The option to connect a drain hose is a huge plusâit makes running the unit continuously much more convenient.What I also appreciate is how easy it is to set up and use. The controls are straightforward, and the overall design feels sturdy and well built. Noise level is reasonable tooâitâs powerful but not disruptive, even when running for long stretches.On top of that, the customer service has been excellent. Whenever I had questions, they were quick to respond and very helpful, which gave me extra confidence in the brand.Overall, this dehumidifier has done exactly what I needed it to do: it keeps the air fresh, prevents dampness, and gives me peace of mind. Definitely worth recommending if youâre dealing with humidity issues at home or in a basement.

I purchased the Waykar dehumidifier a few months ago and was initially very impressed. The unit is easy to set up and use right out of the box, with intuitive controls that make adjusting humidity levels straightforward. I settled on using the AUTO setting to allow the unit to modulate the humidity level based on ambient temperature. The dehumidifier operates quietly compared to many other dehumidifiers Iâve tried, which made it a good fit for use in living areas without being disruptive. Its performance was also excellent â it noticeably reduced humidity in my basement/laundry room within hours, keeping the space much more comfortable, and facilitating drying of damp clothes.Another positive is the warranty support. When I contacted customer service, they were responsive and professional, and it was reassuring to know the unit is backed by solid support.On the downside, I did notice the machine releases a moderate amount of heat while running. Itâs not overwhelming, but in smaller spaces, it can make the room feel warmer. Unfortunately, the biggest drawback was that the unit failed after about three months of use, due to a refrigerant leak. While that was disappointing, the warranty process helped mitigate the frustration in that I quickly received a totally new replacement unit.Overall, I would say the Waykar dehumidifier is a strong performer in terms of ease of use, quiet operation, and humidity control, but potential buyers should be aware of possible durability concerns. Would I buy it again? Absolutely yes⦠but this time I would opt for the extended warranty as extra insurance.

Nice, compact, lightweight, efficient unit
Nice, compact, lightweight, efficient unit and good “bang for the buck”: When I first put the unit in the east half of our basement room (28′ x 13′), I set it to Dry mode at 40% RH and draining into the tank. Our humidity gauge was reading 74%. I left it overnight and next morning it had stopped with Tank Full lit (not sure how long it had run). The humidity had decreased to 68%. It was very easy to remove, empty and replace the tank. Then I switched it to Turbo mode (target is 35%) and connected the included clear hose to the basement floor drain. I could see large drops of water periodically going down the hose into the drain. A few days later and the humidity was down to 56%.I was wondering why the humidity hadn’t gone lower, and I discovered that our basement is not as well closed as I thought. I discovered the wall between the 2 halves of our unfinished basement is not airtight as there are gaps between joists that rest atop the wall; and there is a door, but it has air gaps top and bottom. There is also an opening in the south wall for pipes into the crawl space under the back porch, so I blocked the opening with fiberglass batting but it’s not airtight either. Very important for efficient dehumidification to make the environment as closed as possible; so, I have a bit more to do to isolate that side of the basement for dry storage.

This is a great quality dehumidifier ! It has changed the air quality of our basement for the better. I also really appreciated the customer service of Waykar, where it way easy and fast to get a new sensor replacement when needed!

I was very pleased with this machine during its 16 month lifespan. It was a powerhouse in my approx. 800 square foot basement apartment. It’s quite loud (when you’re in the same room as it) but tolerable as the noise was just pushed air with no overbearing motor sound. Like a powerful floor fan on high. Unfortunately it suddenly started freezing over, rendering it almost completely ineffective.Even though I was 4 months out of warranty, I figured it wouldn’t hurt to reach out to Waykar. After some back and forth via email, it was determined that the machine was toast. They offered me a brand new unit even though they had zero obligation to do so. They suggested a different model which I did try, but it didn’t work out in my space. They’ve now offered me another model as sadly this one is out of stock. My fingers are crossed I will like it as much as I did this one and that I will get more than a year’s use of it! I am fully confident that their amazing customer service will be there to help me should I experience any problems again. It’s due to that customer service that I would recommend this brand to others. They obviously care greatly about their customers satisfaction. Such a thing seems to be rare these days.

We purchased this dehumidifier for our basement of our new home 3 years ago and it has worked amazing for us! We have loved that you can control the humidity level with multiple different levels and the wide space it works in! Our machine stopped working this summer and I reached out to customer service, they were nothing but amazing! They have us multiple options and even after 3 years, they are sending us a brand new dehumidifier free! This has been a great experience with the company, I would buy again and would recommend!

The Wayfar dehumidifier arrived very quickly on the day after placing the order. After allowing the unit to acclimatize for 24 hours we turned it on and it has been running almost constantly for the past week. The unit is sleek, compact and quiet enough so that it does not interfere with conversation or the TV volume. However, the instruction manual leaves much to be desired in that it contains multiple spelling and grammatical errors to the point where some instructions are confusing and incomplete.Overall we are happy with the performance of the unit. So far, it seems to be doing a good job extracting moisture from the air as we have to empty the water bucket at least twice a day and condensation on our windows has been reduced. I would have given “easy to use” five stars if the operating instructions in the user manual had been more clear.

First one I received the drain hose didn’t work and reservoir was too small filled up completely in under an hour so no one is going to empty every hour and when I tried hose it didn’t work. They sent me another one to replace and didn’t have to return and this one works great thanks.
