  1. I Buy Too Much Stuff

Great value, easy install, and excellent peace of mind.
I got this for my daughter’s car and honestly thought she would be less than pleased about it but I have to admit that she LOVES IT! She said it adds a sense of security for her when she’s driving knowing that if anything happens she’ll have video evidence of what occurred. The interface is very easy to navigate and she had no problem connecting the WiFi to her phone to download videos. Installation was super easy (we just used the provided power plug) and hid the wires in about 20 minutes. I really like Wolfbox products, they’re solidly built and whenever I’ve had a question they have been very responsive.

    Best bang for the buck
I was familiar with the brand Wolfbox, as the name showed up when I was researching purchasing a dashcam. When this model came available, I grabbed it, as the need for a dash cam has become more and more of a necessity in the busy metropolitan area I live in. The drivers here are crazy, and the need to document the traffic around me has become more apparent to me. This model has all the features I was looking for, and some I wasn’t.First, the installation. I drive a Ford F-150, and installing the units couldn’t have been easier. Luckily, they provided some extra double-stick tape, as I botched my first attempt (totally my fault). I mounted the front camera out of sight behind my rearview mirror. The power cable plugged into my 12v socket and was easily tucked away behind the trim. I didn’t have to remove anything. They provided a nice tool that allowed me to push the wire along the windshield above the headliner. The rear camera mounted the same way, and too was easy to wire. I was honestly surprised how easy it was. Once installed, I went through the setup menu and took it for a test drive. The quality of the image was amazingly good and should serve me well should I ever need the footage. I went ahead and activated the optional features: a lane reminder, start-stop alert, and a sudden braking alert. The chimes associated with these warnings are pleasant and somewhat unobtrusive, but the jury is still out as to whether or not I’ll keep them all activated. They work fine, but can become somewhat tiring to listen to, particularly the lane alert. This is really a matter of personal preference, and fortunately, you can pick and choose which, if any, warnings you want to activate. If it weren’t for the warning chimes, I honestly would soon forget the camera is installed, which is really what I want. Since the video loops as the card fills up, it really requires no attention. Overall, I’m quite happy with the device. Having the peace of mind that my time on the road is documented is a wonderful thing, but I can honestly say that I hope I never need to use it.Update: I’m not denying any stars for is, as I consider extras such as the lane departure feature to be catchy extras, not the primary reason to own a dash cam. While the feature works, I found it to be annoying, particularly on a long trip. It seems that at times the camera detects markings other than lanes, things such as skid marks and tar snakes. This caused so many false chimes that I couldn’t wait to disable the feature. The chime that warns you’re about to run into the back of someone is the same chime as the others, so would likely to be “too little, too late”. The chime that tells you the car ahead of you has left the stoplight, does work, and may be useful for some.

Provides clean crisp video in the daytime, night time video is lower quality, but still adequate
Video quality is the most important aspect of a dash cam and the X3 delivers with crisp images at 60 fps. Both cameras are wide angle, so cars in adjacent lanes are visible. The video is recorded in MP4 format, so files can be played back on whatever software you prefer. In order to transfer the video files from the included 64GB SD card, to your phone, the X3 transmits a wi-fi signal. All video files are date/time stamped and can be previewed on the X3 screen. The camera includes GPS, so vehicle speed and location are recorded into the left bottom corner of the video stream.Installation of the front and rear cameras is not difficult. The adhesive pad on the main camera base clip did need a little time to set before the somewhat heavy camera is attached. Running the wires along the window frame was easy. Pressing the wires into the door and pillar trim took some time, but I was surprised how well the provided pry tool worked. In the end the wires are only visible where they feed out to the cameras and at the power plug. Once installed, the main camera is fairly large and visible, but when placed opposite the rearview mirror it does not hinder the driver’s field of view. The camera’s controls work well. It has a touch screen along with control buttons. By swiping, the screen shortcuts to various menus for setup and video review. Alternatively, the M (menu) button can be pressed to navigate to a home screen. I found that once the camera is set up, there is little need to navigate menus. The cameras start recording automatically every time the vehicle is started and the memory card over-writes old files once it is full.Overall the camera is easy to use and provides peace of mind knowing that any accidents will be recorded for insurance purposes. Our vehicle already has built-in driver assistance features, so we have not used those provide by the camera.

Solid Dual Dash Cam for Urban Driving
Living in Chicago, a reliable dash cam isn’t just an accessory, it’s pretty much essential for peace of mind on these busy streets. This WOLFBOX X3 dual cam covers both front and rear, giving me solid 2.5K footage that’s clear enough to make out details day or night, which is crucial if something ever happens. The built-in WiFi makes pulling video to my phone quick and easy without messing with the card, and the overall build feels sturdy, not cheap plastic. The only minor downside is that getting the rear camera cable routed perfectly clean took a bit of patience and fiddling. Still, for the features and the added security it provides, it’s a smart investment and fair for the price.

This WOLFBOX X3 2.5K 60FPS Front and Rear View Dash Cam has a rich feature set for a mid range dash cam. It has both control buttons and a large 3″ touchscreen, a built in GPS module, 5.8GHz Wi-Fi, parking monitor mode with time lapse recording and collision detection (requires a separate hardwire kit) as well as ADAS technology that proactively alerts you to road hazards. The front camera uses the STARVIS 2 IMX675 sensor which combined with the f/1.5 aperture lens and a maximum video resolution of 2.5K (2560 x 1440P) at 60fps provides crisp, clear video with no motion blur day or night so it’s easy to make out license plates and road signs up to 50 feet away. The camera has a wide field of view (approximately 160-170 degrees) so it will capture vehicles in adjacent lanes while driving on the highway and people and street singes while driving in the city. The rear camera records at 1080p 30fps and provides a clear, easy to view image during the daytime so you can make out the license plate of the vehicle behind you up to about 25 feet away. Night time performance is not quite as good and it becomes difficult to make out plates further than about 15-20 feet away. Both cameras are capable of recording HDR video which improves night time image quality quite a bit, but that will drop the frame rate of the front camera down to 30fps. The WOLFBOX X3 also has ADAS (Advanced Drive Assistance System) that can alert you about potential road hazards. It has forward collisions warning, lane departure warning and stop and go traffic notification. This is great to have particularly if you’re installing this camera in an older vehicle that didn’t have these features from the factory.Installing the camera is pretty straightforward. First, find a spot on your windshield where the camera won’t obstruct your view (not difficult since the camera is only 3.75″ wide x 3″ tall including the mount) and attach one of the electrostatic stickers to your windshield. Then remove the camera mount/GPS module from the dash cam and attach that to the electrostatic sticker and allow that to set up for about 24 hours before you reattach the dash cam. Tuck the power cable behind the headliner using the provided pry tool and then route the cable to your 12V DC port. The power adapter has a built in USB-A charging port so you’ll still be able to charge your phone with the dash cam installed. Routing the power cable for the rear camera takes a little more patience and may require the removal of some interior panels for a clean, hidden installation. Installing the rear camera in my Jeep was easy since I could run the cable along the bottom sill behind the carpet then up the rear corner of the hard top to the top to the rear window. Attach another one of the electrostatic stickers to your rear window, plug in the power cable, mount the camera and adjust the view.I’m currently running the dash cams in HDR mode and video quality has a been great from both cameras. There’s no noticeable blur from the front camera and transitions from light to dark like going under a bridge or driving in bright sunlight are much smoother than without HDR on. This gets a highly recommended.

I’ve used many dashcams over the years, but this particular dual dashcam really stands out thanks to its integration of ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems). For less than $300, it provides safety features that normally come standard only on much newer vehicles costing $40,000 or more. For my older SUV, a 2004 Buick Rainier, this dashcam has been a game-changer by bringing modern safety tech into a reliable older vehicle.ADAS Safety FeaturesThe ADAS functions add a valuable extra layer of protection for my family’s daily driving. The system includes:❤️Forward Collision Warning❤️Pedestrian Collision Alert❤️Lane Departure Warning❤️Headway Monitoring❤️Forward Movement DetectionEach of these has proven practical in real-world driving. Even in an older vehicle without built-in driver-assist systems, I now get audible and visual alerts when I drift from my lane, follow too closely, or approach another vehicle too quickly. It makes every trip feel safer and gives me greater peace of mind, especially when my family is on board.Video Quality & Dual Camera CoverageThe dual camera setup covers both the front and rear, providing complete recording of what happens on the road. I like that I can view both feeds on the built-in screen if needed, or rely on the Wi-Fi app connection for playback and configuration. The footage quality is clear in both daylight and nighttime conditions, making it easy to review details like license plates.Installation & SetupInstalling the unit was straightforward, and the instruction manual was actually useful — something I don’t always find with electronics. Everything I needed came in the package, including a plastic pry tool, screwdriver, and even a pre-installed 64GB memory card. That amount of storage is more than enough for daily driving with loop recording, and the ability to lock important files means I don’t have to worry about losing critical footage.Practical BenefitsFor my 2004 Buick Rainier, adding this dashcam essentially upgraded it with state-of-the-art driver-assist technology at a fraction of the cost of a new car. The combination of reliable recording and ADAS warnings makes it feel like I’ve added an extra layer of intelligence and protection to my daily drives.Final ThoughtsOverall, I’m very satisfied with this purchase. The dual dashcam provides not just high-quality recording, but also advanced safety functions that enhance confidence behind the wheel. The thoughtful accessories, straightforward installation, and practical ADAS alerts make it well worth the investment.
