Always works no matter how tight an oil filter is.
Always works. It takes a little practice to remove a filter with this but once you have it in a clear area it is easy to remove a filter no matter how tight. I overtightened my last oil filter. I would never have gotten it off without the strap wrench. It was so tight that it put a significant dent in the side of the filter. Lesson learned: don’t put filters on so tight.

Perfect oil filter wrench for those large hard to remove filters.
If you have a rig that has large oil filters, or in my case a Diesel Pusher with a Cat engine, this is the filter wrench that you need! My filter will tighten on during operation, making it super difficult to remove, and it’s large enough that there isn’t a end cap style to remove it, plus the OEM filters are smooth. This will allow you to easily reach up along side the filter, and using a regular ratchet, be able to get a strong hold onto the filter and remove it. Super simple design makes it easy to use on any filter – slip it over the end, slide it up close to the base, turn it a few times to take up the extra strap, and you are set. I’ve fought with my filters for years until my brother loaned me his wrench to take it off, and it made it a whole lot easier! Simple design that will last for years.

Works good
This actually works pretty good. I was able to loosen the oil filter on a 2019 Honda Odyssey. The area around the filter is pretty tight but you can move up the strap which allowed me to break it loose. I’m sure it’d be easier on filters that are in more open areas.

Works as it should. Could be improved
Worked OK in conjunction with a filter wrench hammered on to a second breaker bar. This was the worst stuck filter I’ve ever encountered though. Probably great for average filters with limited access. It would be great to add a round end with the rubber cap instead of just capping the square tubing, but it’ll get the job done as is.

It removes the most stubbornly stuck oil filters and doesn’t crush it.
It’s easily fits into tight places. I’ve had to use this several times to remove oil filters that were very difficult to remove. I highly recommend this to anybody and everybody.

When your oil filter wants it rough
I call this tool âThe Punisher.â Itâs for stubborn oil filters in odd places, and someone has torqued them to 10,000 foot pounds, and you need to punish the filter to get it unthreaded. I have had one of these strap wrenches since I was 16. The design is brilliant. Itâs only failed me once or twice. Beware⦠this is kind of a last resort kinda thing. The harder you go with this, the more damaged your oil filter will get.

Weak strap
Just received the strap wrench. It was applied to a stuck oil filter and strap broke / tore with a pop. I was expecting an actual seatbelt strap, but the strap was not thick. It might have worked if it was a thick seatbelt strap. It might work for mild stuck oil filters but not for the oil filters that didnât get oiled before they were screwed on.
