HOME VISE: Is the perfect tool for your home workshop. Made from heavy duty 30,000 PSI Gray Iron castings, 3x stronger than cast iron vises.
TECHNICAL SPECS: Jaw Width: 4.5″ x Jaw Opening: 3″ x Throat Depth: 2.6″ x Pipe Capacity: Min 0.6” D x Max 1.85″. Mounting hardware is not included.
SWIVEL BASE: Vise head rotates 240° and equipped with a large 3.5″ x 2.7″ (8.9CM X 6.9CM) anvil work surface.
HOW TO USE: Make sure vise is securely mounted to the workbench and the swivel base lock is secure. Open the vise by turning the vise handle counterclockwise. Place item between the serrated jaws. Close the vise by turning the vise handle clockwise until the item is snug in the serrated jaws, continue to tighten until you can no longer move item. Don’t over tighten as this may damage item and/or the vise. When finished working on the item, turn screw handle counterclockwise to release the item.

Great little thing
Great and sturdy. I didn’t want to spend much since a never really need one. But it’s great to have for the rare occasion. Installation to the table was easy and the provided a paper to drill holes. No mounting hardware.

Perfect little vise for the money!
Yost LV-4 Home Vise 4-1/2″ at this price is awesome for a good light duty swivel vise with one year warranty! And at this price it is obviously not made in the USA and is not a medium nor professional grade vise. If you want a vise able to withstand a lot of pressure with zero movement with a large anvil, then this is not the vise you need. I would recommend looking at The Yost Apprentice series at least. This is clearly for the casual user who just needs a light duty simple vise and probably targeted toward someone who will not use this very often.I’ve used it for household projects, school projects, building a pinewood derby car, regripping a golf club and gunsmith projects (filing a magazine) for example. Works great for everything I’ve used it for and grips great, opens pretty wide, swivels when needed and is solid.If you are concerned about the size, before you buy please go get a tape measure and go out to where you’ll be installing this and measure; all the dimensions are listed here or on Yost’s website. I don’t understand reviews that state it was ‘smaller than expected’. You should always measure!I liked it for the very reason it is compact and doesn’t take up much of my bench space for something I seldom will use. I’ll probably only use mine once a month on average and it is perfect for that.If you get a defective unit, Amazon will take it back no issues, plus Yost also has a year warranty. It happens.

Yost Vice, solid and stable
This vise offers excellent value for light to medium-duty tasks. It is sturdily constructed and easy to install. It has met my expectations and I use it constantly to secure work in my shop. It is percect for hobbies or DIY repairs when you can’t get Mark next door to come over to help without forking out for a 6-pack.The vice is not suitable for heavy-duty work but for smaller jobs it’s priceless. I use it all the time and it’s made such a difference to the ease of my work. I highly recommend this light-duty vice for any home shop or professional shop work.

WORTH EVERY DOLLAR! OMGOODNESS!
First off… This vice is solid cast or on. I wasn’t prepared for just how premium a $30 bench vice would or even could be. I lost my 50 year old vice in a move some years back & hadn’t needed one until the other day when an important project came up, requiring just this type of vice. Now, my tools are quality & I don’t like to skimp in that department but, my finances are tight at the moment & I really didn’t want to drop over $200 on similar vice’s available. New & used. Well, look no more. This thing is crazy good. I included my ugly hand for scale… You can see this isn’t a tiny toy type vice. Again, pleasantly surprised indeed. Holds very secure. The anvil I perfect & you can wail away on it. It can take it! Trust me, I needed to pound out a bent cornet on an incredibly thick, steel bracket that got bent somehow. It held up to the task effortlessly! Rotates to perfect positions. Plenty of “open” real estate” for most projects. I highly recommend this product. 5, glowing stars!!!!!

Great budget vise
For me this is perfect for what I need: light duty and some metal bending/shaping. It was smaller than expected – but that was just me, not anything in the product description. Itâs working great and was easy to install. Only minor grip is the template to drill the mounting holes said: ânot drawn to scaleâ⦠well, that went right in the trash and didnât check if it was correct. Really donât need it. I used 3/8â bolts (vendor recommended) to mount, but I think 7/16âwould be the best fit. 1/2â def too big. As for not shipping with mounting bolts, Iâm totally good with that – sizes I used undoubtedly would not have shipped with it anywayBeing able to almost rotate the vise 360 degrees is nice too

Excellent Small Vise
I am a wood crafter and need a metal vise from time to time. This vise fills the bill. It has all the features I need. As you can see from the photo, I didn’t attach it permanently to my work bench. In stead, I clamp it to my work bench. It rotates 240 degrees so you can clamp items and get to them from various angles. It has flat jaws for general use and rounded jaws for pipes and dowels. It has an anvil for shaping with a ball peen hammer. It is a rather small vise for home shop use. I don’t recommend it for commercial use. The paint job is excellent to prevent rust. I think it is a perfect value for my purposes.

What an amazing vise this is..This vice is in the Top 5 vises in the market today!I wanted a vise for my electronics workbench but all the vises I had seen where either aluminium and low quality or very small for the usage I wanted. Plus they were equipped to be attached on a bench with the help of a screw pad and OMG very expensive to buy too..In my work I can use it as a holder to solder a connector or to hold an enclosure box for drilling..Because I’ve worked with a couple of vises before I had always problem with stabilization of the vise.Therefor I decided to go with a heavy-duty vise like this one.And on this age of cheapness that surrounds us nowadays (where almost everything is plastic or the lowest quality metal and sometimes its even plastic painted like metal), I’ve never expect to find a heave-duty professional vise especially on this prize! Just $40 bucks.I’ve got to tell you that not only its amazing, never moves on the bench no matter what work I do on it (I mean its 5 Kg) but also it has an awesome holder that can be used on light and tough work as well. You don’t have to tight it strong to hold whatever you’re working with.I’m totally satisfied with it and I recommend it to anyone for all kind of jobs.

me gustó esta prensa porque es de buena calidad, es barata y cumple la función. Aparte de la prensa de 4.5 pulgadas también incorpora una mordaza circular para cortar tubos. Sirve muy bien para trabajos de hogar. 100% recomendable!!.

I mounted this vise to my work bench using a set of flange bolts and nuts (you can also just use hex bolts with washers if you can’t find flange bolts). When mounted correctly, the vise will perform as it’s intended to. This vise is good quality, durable, and strong enough for most household/domestic uses. Good bang for your buck.
