Inexpensive and Effective. Great picture day and night.
This is my fifth camera. Don’t let the wireless fool you. The network connection is wireless, but you’ll still need to run power. Since these will most likely be mounted on the exterior walls of your home, you’ll want to fish that wire inside the wall and have the other end pop out near an AC outlet. Your exterior walls are insulated. You’ll need a set of fiberglass rods to push through the insulation. My exterior walls are stucco, so that also means stucco patch. I found it easier to fill the hole in the stucco with caulk first, and apply stucco patch a few weeks later once the caulk had fully cured. This makes a clean, professional, installation that nearly is wireless. There is only a short piece of thin white wire that runs straight into the wall just behind the camera. The more professional your install appears not only looks nicer, but makes the would be malintented individual(s) wonder just how much you spent on this system. What other surprises are behind this? I can tell you in my case, a LOT! I started with the inexpensive stuff, beefing up the door and window locks first. I even put up fake cameras as a deterrent, and put security decals on every door and window. Did that work? The fake cameras did not. Someone tried to break in, twice actually. The beefed up locks stopped one, and the alarm system stopped the next. Correction, three times! I chased after one! The police caught him shortly thereafter. But without cameras, there was no footage. The police needed the video from the fake cameras. Sorry, not available. That’s when we decided we need real ones. Something that stores everything offsite in it’s own cloud backup. Something that runs 24×7, constantly recording. Something that will capture video day and night. Something simple enough for a do-it-yourself install, and lastly would not break the bank, or make us rob one to afford it. The ability to monitor remotely via smart phone is a big bonus too. Should we be notified of an alarm, we can pull up the cameras and see exactly what happened. These Zmodo camera’s fill every requirement. Since installing the first few about a year ago, no one has bothered us. That doesn’t mean we will no longer be vigilant. If there are areas we cannot see, we still want to be sure they are covered. Should someone attempt to disable a camera, we want to be sure another camera captures it. The fact that we continue to buy more and expand this system proves it meets all our needs. We would, and have, purchased again and again. You don’t have to max out a credit card and do it all at once. Buy one or two. I’m sure you’ll be more than satisfied. You can always expand your system later as time and funds permit. Oh, and don’t waste your money on the fake ones. They obviously don’t even work as a deterrent! Just get the real thing, and have real protection. The next time the police ask for video, it’ll be on my screen before they even arrive, and I’ll give them a link where they can download it. I’ll even capture a snapshot or two.

Easy and quick install
The camera was very easy to get connected and linked up to the Zmodo app, which is very user friendly and easy to use. Picture quality is excellent during the day and very reasonable at night. Only down side is that the power supply cord is a bit on the short side. Would be nice to have to option for a longer cord as an add on.

DO NOT BUY THESE PIECES OF GARBAGE
Zmodo is truly the worst company to ever rely on for your security, unless you have hundreds of dollars to shell out to a shady company each month. Their customer service is useless, and to get cloud storage itâs an extra charge every 30 days. Buying these cameras is the biggest waste of your time and your money. It defeats the purpose of buying cameras at all. I would never in a million years recommend this company or these cameras to anyone I care about. Iâve needed this footage for legal reasons on multiple occasions and none of it backed up because these selfish worthless imbeciles want more money from me. Unbelievable. My rating would be zero stars but I have to leave one in order to send this review. Worst of the worst of the WORST. You guys suck.

Inexpensive camera with good picture
I bought a Zmodo NVR and 4 cameras in Dec 2017 after having a porch pirate steal Christmas presents off our front porch. I was a total security camera novice at that time. My first and most important lesson was that these cameras need good wifi. We have a nice size house so I ended up adding wifi extenders to areas where the cameras are located. I now have six outdoor cameras and 4 indoor cameras. In May 2021, one off the outdoor cameras started intermittent outages. If rebooted it would work for 10-20 minutes and then go offline. I replaced it with a new Zmodo camera a few weeks ago. I was surprised that the quality of the picture is even better than the older cameras and seems to have much better connectivity. I wish Zmodo would sell a 16 channel 1080p NVR so I could monitor all my cameras. True I can view them on the Zmodo app, but it would be great to have all the cameras on my home security monitor.
