Works great!
So far, I love it. I put in my kitchen scraps during the day, and then run it while I sleep. Sometimes I feed it to my quail, and sometimes I put it in my plants.

Does a good job but its kind of stinky
I was really excited to get this thing. We have a lot of kitchen scraps that we were wanting to enhance our garden soil. We’re making all this waste and also buying soil from the store. That soil doesn’t really have everything a plant needs to thrive. Why am I doing that when I can just make compost with my trash?This is really easy to use. You just throw your scraps in, choose the desired settings and let it go. There is a carbon filter on the unit that is supposed to reduce odors. I did find that my house reeked when I composted cruciferous vegetables. For this reason I moved the unit out to the garage. I forgot I’d run it and came out a couple days later to find it full of maggots. So yeah, it’s not air tight. Don’t really know how that happened.Anyhow, it’s good quality, has decent capacity and does a great job of breaking stuff down so you can more quickly use the compost.

Composyed products will not be dry
I was expecting the composted products to be dry giving the “dry” option on the machine. Unfortunately, the resulting outcome is a goopy paste. I initially bought this product because I want my home compost waste to be dry to avoid smells and bugs during the summer months. This machine does not help me accomplish that.

Simply fantastic
I love this smart WiFi enabled kitchen composter.An existing app I use for home automation detected this device making it simple to get it connected.My first test with was some fruit ends, rinds, peels and cores. Operation is pretty simple. It took several hours and at the conclusion I had a small amount of ground up material that was easily spread in the yard. I noted that no birds or animals were attracted to the material. The display showed the energy that had been consumed for the process. Since I have solar at home this was completed by the sun.There is a cleansing cycle which appears to work very well.The unit has a lid so you can fill it over a few days without any offensive smells based on the food you put in. During operation virtually no smells were detected. The finished product has no significant smells either but that may have been based on the food scraps I was using.Overall I am very pleased with this composter.

Great compost but the app does not work with 5G
The composter is quite large so make sure you measure and have enough room on your counter. Make sure to read all of the instructions before you try to use the composter. You will want to install the app on your phone first before getting stated. One issue I had right away was that the app only works with older networks and not 5G so I could not use it. Because I could not use the app I just manually initiated the composting with the touch screen.Before you get started you cut you waste into smaller pieces and place it in the bucket. The bucket on the inside holds a lot of waste but you do have to be careful what type of waste you put in it. Eggs shells and veggies are ok but you have to limit sugary foods, for example. Once you are ready to compost you put the bucket in the composter, insert your waste and then select the Eco Pre-Compost option. This option is the energy saving version where as the Bio Compost option takes longer. Then you wait as the composter dries, grinds and then cools the waste. When itâs done it shows you how much energy you used, carbon emissions, etc. The composter unit does get fairly warm when itâs drying and grinding. You want to give it space so that the vents/filter on the back have the appropriate air flow.Once itâs done it comes out as dried, ground waste that you can easily add to your compost pile. The composter is quiet and easy to use. It seals shut and there is no smell. I am really impressed at the construction and design of the composter, outside of the app issues. It does speed up the process and makes it easier to create great compost for your soil. Itâs a great composter and well worth ordering!

An incredibly useful machine
I honestly did not expect to love this thing as much as I do. Every attempt I have made in the past to compost my own food waste has ended poorly so I was not even sure how much use I would get out of this item. Boy, was I wrong. This has quickly become one of the most useful, most used items I own.This unit is incredibly well constructed and super easy to set up and use. One of the things that always stopped me from actually seriously composting in the past was the smell. No matter what container I used or where I kept it, it always stank. Not this time. This composter actually eliminates that whole step completely. While the process does have a smell associated with it (depending on what you have put in the basket) its not at all unpleasant or overly strong. It just smells like food. Not rotten food, just food. It also does not really produce much noise. The grinding portion does have a light whirring noise associated but nothing else.This item is obviously not creating actual compost, what it does is breakdown, dry and process food into a powdery substance that you can add to a compost pile outside. A full five liter bucket of food waste is processed down to a third of the size in only a couple hours removing a HUGE amount of time and trouble from the process. This makes things so much easier and so much less messy.The size of this unit is very large and it generates a lot of heat and moisture during the process. You will need a large amount of space to really situate this item and it needs to be an area with good ventilation. I have it in my utility room near the laundry machines so its within easy reach of both the kitchen and the back door. Perfect.This item is super useful if you are serious about reducing your food waste and gardening. The app even allows you to track your carbon offset and gives you bonus points that can be traded for products on their website.If you have use for something like this, it is worth every single penny.
