    Must Have!
Love this monitor!! Doesn’t hook up to WiFi so set up is easy, and you don’t have to worry about it getting hacked into. Screen is big and it’s nice you can move the camera around. Night vision is good enough we can see the little one’s eyes open when they should be closed lol… We keep it on all night instead of the battery saving option and it lasts us through the night. Just have to charge throughout the day.

    Not Just for Babies
Not only for babies but for anything that needs watching. Like the elderly or Rover the neurotic dog. Might keep Granny or Gramps from lying on the floor for 5 days till the Saturday visit.

    Impressed
Just bought this, and the color is clear. It’s has great monitor quality. I love it. Trying it in different rooms and just as clear when it was by the closest room. It is easy to figure out, and the camera has so many different angles. Connected to the Wi-Fi quickly. Functionality is what I need it for. Value for the money, I think it’s too expensive, but I needed it. Like I wrote just bought it. I will give an updated review when I’ve had it a few months. Will also review Night vision in the future.

Disappointing: very low range in a moderate sized house
I’ve been using this monitor for about 2 weeks. I ordered it to be an upgrade from my cheap starter monitor, which was a v tech vm819, but this actually kind of feels like either a downgrade or a lateral trade for more money. For $89, I’d probably stick with the more reliable and cheaper brands.TLDR: horrible range, subpar battery life and VOX features, too quiet. Beautiful picture quality when not in night vision, but you will probably always use this in night vision anyway so the picture quality doesn’t really differ from other brands.Cons:-horrible range, less than 1000’ for sure but it’s not even listed in the manual or listing. Antenna doesn’t help much. We have a 4 bedroom 2200 sq ft house (spread between 2 floors) and I can’t even get a signal two rooms over. We have a typical American home: drywall, standard shingles (no metal roof), wood frame with exterior brick, no metal or thick walls or anything different that could be interfering with the signal. Our WiFi modem is NOT between the camera and parent unit, not anywhere near either one. I keep the parent unit away from my phone/TV/laptop, there’s no radio that could be interfering within the house, and yet I still have connection issues. There’s no reason the parent unit shouldn’t be able to connect to the camera less than 500’ away. It only seems to have a decent connection if I’m right outside the baby’s door or downstairs directly under her room. Even when it’s not flashing the lost connection screen, the connection is so poor that the video and sound feed are choppy, like it’s buffering. We previously had a v tech monitor (it didn’t even have an antenna) and I could go all over the house, even outside as far as the mailbox on the street without losing connection. I will wake up in the night and look up at the monitor to see the lost connection message, even though the camera is just on the other side of the bathroom next to me. There’s an alarm feature you can enable to have it beep when it loses connection, I turned it off though because it literally beeps on and off all night as it disconnects/reconnects repeatedly.-VOX (the standby feature that allows the parent unit to sleep unless it detects crying) is too sensitive, our baby’s sound machine sets it off all night even on lowest sensitivity and sound machine turned way down. My husband flushing the toilet in the bathroom next to the baby’s room has even tripped the VOX feature on low.-the parent unit is too quiet. On the loudest volume I can’t hear baby crying when I’m in the shower and the parent unit is sitting right outside the shower.-horrible battery life. My daughter takes 1 2 hour nap and the parent unit will already be half dead, even on battery save mode & using the standby/VOX function. Our old monitor parent unit would last all day and most of the night before needing to be plugged in, even when we had a newborn that was sleeping most of the time.-The temperature sensor not really accurate, it says it’s about 3° cooler at all times than thermostat and hygrometer in baby’s room read.-standby/VOX mode is slow to come back on which could be an issue with a newborn, especially if you’re newborn has any heath issues. When it detects crying or you press a button to wake up the parent unit, a welcome back message stays on screen for 2-3 seconds before showing the live feed. that 2-3 seconds can really wrack your nerves when you hear your baby crying from the other room.-you can set it flat on a shelf (and watch your baby through crib bars) or mount it to the wall with the included anchor and screws, however I’d highly recommend not mounting it to your wall until you’re sure you like this. I have had so many issues with this monitor after just a couple days of use I’m not sure I want to continue using it, I’m really glad I didn’t mount it to the wall right off the bat.Pros:-the picture quality is great but not worth all the other flaws. Also, chances are you will always be using this in infrared night vision mode, and I don’t think the picture quality in night vision is any better than our v tech monitor, the screens just larger is the only difference. But again, the larger screen is not worth the other flaws. I’d stick with the more reliable (and cheaper) monitor. Honestly I think most monitors have about the same image quality when in night vision mode, so save your money and find a system that is going to be reliable.-nice long charger cord, over 6’

  8. Customer Review

    Wonderful baby monitor option
So far this Babysense Prisma video baby monitor has been a good monitor system. It has a nice 5 inch screen, good color day mode, and clear night time black and white mode. The camera rotation and movement is pretty extensive and allows us to follow a toddling toddler around the living room. Right now we have it sitting on a shelf and it seems to see most of the room well. It came with screws and drywall anchors for hanging it, but the unit just clips on to the screw after you put it in the wall (no holder or two part clip system to help it stay on), and I always feel nervous about something hitting the unit and knocking it off the screws when it’s designed like that.It has a lots of features, night light in multiple brightness’s and colors, as well as a color scroll mode. A timer feature, lullaby/white noise mode, power saving mode, temperature alerts and more.Instructions in the manual are very clear and extensive, and there is a QR code to getting help with your unit. This code can be found in paperwork sent with the unit, as well as in the setting section of the monitor. This monitor unit does allow for up to 3 additional cameras to be added to the system (4 total), but so far the extra cameras cost almost as much as a whole single camera unit with monitor. So you may want to get a multi camera unit right away, rather than buying and adding an extra camera later. The extra cameras do seem very easy to sync, use, and remove according to the instructions. This is an immediate review with less than 48 hours usage, like with all electronics time will tell how well all these features last. How well the range maintains over time, how long the screen works, how long the battery life maintains, etc. For now though, this is a very nice system.

This is a completely independent and honest review, based on a unit which I bought myself – unlike all of the other reviews so far, which have all been handed out as Vine freebies for the sake of securing a (good) review. I purchased this monitor in September 2024 for about £80 (Amazon had a 10% discount voucher). It was intended to replace a Babymoov YOO Moov camera which I had been using for approx. 4 years (before gravity intervened and it fell into the toilet). I took a bit of a punt on this one, as there were no reviews whatsoever for this model on Amazon UK when I ordered, and even a Google search brings up very few results – it is presumably a new line for the UK / EU. Hopefully this review will be useful to others in the same situation!>>> DELIVERYDelivery was quick and on-time using the specified day Prime delivery option. The monitor was well packaged inside an Amazon box, with a good amount of packing material to stop it moving around too much inside.>>> FIRST IMPRESSIONSFirst impressions of the baby monitor after removing it from the Amazon packaging were really good. The item is housed inside a very sturdy cardboard box which is not shrink-wrapped but does come with tamper-proof seals for reassurance. Once opened, the box contains a polystyrene-type cut-out inside it to safely house the cameras, the monitor unit, the chargers and the paperwork.>>> POSITIVESIn terms of general common sense, the monitor unit feels sensibly designed overall. The kickstand is centrally placed on the back, with two different options for how reclined you want the unit to be. The charging point is on the side, so it does not interfere with the kickstand. On the same side of the unit is the power on/off button. Volume up/down buttons are on the top.Setup was a piece of cake. The monitor unit arrived pre-charged so as soon as I turned on the monitor and plugged in the cameras, the former found the latter without any hassle at all. When powering the monitor unit off and back on again, it links to the cameras instantly.Reception is excellent so far. We have had no dropouts whatsoever, and have not needed to raise the aerial on the receiver unit. The cameras and the monitor unit are all powered with well-placed USB-C ports. A separate charger is provided for each of them. The chargers have a really nice, small profile but it is also reassuring to know that the USB-C ports mean that you can also use your phone charger if you are travelling and want to reduce the amount of gear you are carrying. The cameras and monitor unit seem to be very unfussy about which USB-C charger you use, which is also really helpful. The screen is really good quality. Some baby monitors offer full HD screens on units this size but I honestly think that anything more than 720p on a unit this size is unnecessary. The screen is very crisp and clear, with good colour reproduction during the day time and a very clear picture in low light levels or complete darkness.Sound reproduction is very good. Any unit this size will find it difficult to reproduce sounds without them sounding a bit thin and tinny, but this is better than the other monitors we have used up to now. The delay between a sound taking place in the room and being relayed to the monitor unit is minimal. The monitor unit has a range of buttons for frequently used functions. These are: power on/off; volume up/down; menu; night light; two-way talk; camera switching; and camera tilt/pan/zoom. These all work well and have a consistent feel of quality with regard to ‘clickiness’, feedback etc.The on-screen menu is really clear and self-explanatory.Battery life on the receiver seems good: the receiver unit easily made it through the night on a single charge. There is a power-saving option which claims to extend battery life even further. The night-light function is great, with the option to choose between three levels of brightness, six colours and even a rainbow mode which cycles smoothly between the colours. The ‘talk’ function works really well. Again, there is always a limit to how natural your voice will sound when coming out of a tiny speaker on a camera unit but compared to some of the other baby monitors we have used, the function works well here. The ‘vox’ option works extremely well. I gave a very poor review to a completely different unit a couple of weeks ago because its vox function was abysmal. Here, the screen and speaker on the camera unit are triggered promptly and effectively when even very faint sounds are detected in the room(s) being monitored. This is vital for our circumstances as a family so I am delighted that it works so well here. For buyers who want fewer interruptions, there are three sensitivity settings based on how easily you want the function to be triggered. Helpfully, the receiver unit explains exactly on-screen what the different options means (e.g. ‘high’ means that quieter sounds will wake the unit). There is also a ‘scan’ mode which allows you to use the vox mode across more than one camera in different rooms: if one of them registers a sound, it will automatically show the feed from that room. There is a temperature alert function which lets you know if the temperature gets too high or low in the room(s) being monitored. Helpfully, you are able to specify the ‘trigger’ temperatures you want using the on-screen menu. Again, many cheaper units do not allow you to do this and simply give you a preset high and low temperature, which is not particularly helpful if you prefer to focus on heating beds and bodies rather than entire rooms (for slightly older children rather than babies). The remote control tilt/pan function works really smoothly.>>> NEGATIVESThe zoom function is okay, but not great. In addition to the normal view, there are two levels of zoom. The first of these is actually not too bad, but the closest zoom level is pretty unhelpful. Like most baby monitors, the cameras on this unit use a digital rather than an optical zoom. This means that zooming in just gives you an even more interpolated / blurred view of the image. At maximum zoom level, it’s all just a bit too unclear. The kickstand does not feel particularly strong, but this seems to be pretty standard for baby monitors these days. Whilst the hinge has a metal pin inside it, the actual standing ‘leg’ is quite thin and I suspect it would break pretty easily with just a little bit of force. The aerial is better than on some of the baby monitors I have seen, but it still feels like it could snap pretty easily. This is definitely not a heavy duty unit like our old Babymoov monitor, so it makes sense to keep it out of reach of little hands.>>> OVERALLOn the whole, I am really impressed by this unit. Yes, at £80 it wasn’t the cheapest option but it comes with all of the features we really need as a family. There are much pricier options out there, but I’m not sure how much more genuinely useful quality they could really add, other than perhaps slightly more durable build quality on the kickstand / aerial and an optical zoom on the cameras. Also, bear in mind that the package I bought contains two cameras, and there is a similar package with just one camera which (at time of purchase) costs £20 less. For many families a single camera will be sufficient, and that sort of price seems like outstanding value for a very fully-featured piece of kit from a brand name which is well established as being reliable and user-focused. Considering our old Babymoov monitor cost well over £100, this Babysense Prisma is brilliant value and highly recommended.
