Product description

✅ WORLD FIRST BIODEGRADABLE FILTER: Simply Carbon have developed the world’s first activated charcoal compost bin filter made using coconut fibers. The filter is 100% natural and biodegradable. Avoid traditional filters which are made with Terylene polyester, a thermoplastic which cannot be recycled and will not decompose in landfill.
✅ FITS ALL STANDARD COMPOST BINS: Suitable for 99% of kitchen compost bins in the US. Easy installation with cutting templates included to cut your filters to the exact shape and size that matches your bin (if required). The out-of-the-box size is 7.25” round.
✅ 2 YEARS OF ODOR PROTECTION (BEST IN MARKET): Protect your kitchen from odors for up to 2 years. It is recommended to replace your filter every 2 months, or 4 months if using two at a time (refer to images). Caution buying filters that claim odor protection beyond 2 years as even the purest Activated Charcoal loses efficacy over time after the manufacturing date.
✅ FITTING INSTRUCTIONS: The biodegradable filter is stiffer than regular filters, so cutting close to the correct size is recommended for ease of insertion. If space permits, use two filters together to help secure the filters in place. Using two filters together will double the lifespan to 4 months.
✅ SIMPLY CARBON QUALITY: As the coconut material is natural, texture and thickness will vary slightly. This does not impact performance. To maximise the lifetime of the set, the filters are packaged in a resealable, biodegradable bag to maintain freshness of the activated charcoal. Simply Carbon never package products in traditional plastics.

Good so far
The filter fit perfectly into the lid of my Natural Home compost container. It keeps out fruit flies and is effective as an odor neutralizer. I haven’t had it long enough to judge it is effective for 4 months.

Very Good.
Very good product. It’s thick enough to keep its shape, and stay put in the lid.
Pyromom –
They work.
Removes odors well.

Works well, a pain to cut
These are pretty irritating to cut down due to the stiffness and thickness of the fibers. But once you get them cut down they work perfectly, and I like that I can just throw them into the compost bin when it’s time to replace.

Able to fit well.in the lid
Easy to use with my recycle container. Easy to cut

Nice and thick.
I needed a thicker filter for a newly purchased metal countertop compost bin as the manufacturer included very thin filters that even when doubled let the odor out. Shame on the manufacturer for supplying cheap thin filters with a good compost bin. These thicker filters are amazing and work great in the lid of my metal compost bin. I also recommend the green compost bags Amazon sells as they work well in the bin and compost well.

Buy THESE not those…
These filters are as awesome as they look. They are thick and big enough to snugly fit in our 1 gallon composter lid after a minor trim. (I bought some other replacements that were supposed to fit–they were flimsy and way too small. The fruit flies were able to sneak right around them.)Even though I could figure out the size without a template, it’s a really thoughtful touch!

Miss for me
I wanted to love these but I don’t. I love the idea that they can go straight into the compost after use and not in the landfill but they are a bit fiberbare and do allow a family of fruit flies to inhabit. I basically use them.just to hold a piece of newspaper in the lid.I like that they fit well and do have a light pleasant scent when taking out of the box.
