Great, year-round alternative to traditional decorative/holiday lights!
During our first Christmas at our house, I had hung up some traditional, blue colored “Christmas/holiday” lights in our front window that I had found in our basement. Put them up again a year later, but they kept losing bulbs, the dogs would knock them down, and the wires were just kind of unsightly. I pitched the idea of buying this set, and my wife was all for it when I showed her all that these could do. Strung them up in the front window about two years ago, and they have been on virtually 24/7 ever since without a single issue! The wire is nice and lightweight, but fairly stiff, so you may want to hold them up with some adhesive clips. The adjustable brightness is nice since some colors are a bit harsh at the default brightness, and the variety of colors is perfect for literally every season and holiday! The remote is easy to use, but does need a direct line of sight to the receiver, so make sure it isn’t blocked by curtains, blinds, or furniture. The original battery in the remote still works, and still changes the colors every couple months or season. Each and every LED still works perfectly after 2+ years of constant use. Well worth the money, and it’s far cheaper than different strings of lights!

Updated Jan 8, 2025 adding the details about the lights and remotes. To start these lights are not difficult to put on the tree if you do a couple things. One, make it a 2 person job. Two, rather than holding the spool and unwrapping the wire or pulling the wire free; instead, unroll the spool releasing the cord and lightly run the lights thru your fist to take the bends out of the wire. If you unwrap by holding the light wire and untwisting it from around the spool, all the bends will coil rather than straightening out. Took us ~30 mins to put 2 strands on a 6ft tree. BTW we started at the top with one strand and went all the way to the bottom. Then we started at the bottom with the second strand and went to the top. Covers this 6ft tree well. perfect number of lights. (NOTE each strand has its own remote and âreceiverâ at the end of the cord where the plug is. The frequencies are the same for both. So you only need 1 remote; meaning you have a backup. However this does mean that if youâre across the room and the receivers are close together, then setting each strand to your own custom color can be a pain as Both pick up the signal. Mine are on opposite sides of the tree and still plug into the same place but even then i sometimes have to got over and point the remote at each strand receiver separately. Just something to note. It also will change modes, color combos etc when using various other living room remotes. For me theyâre my Firestick, Samsung tv and my Sony soundbar remote. I have figured out that if I shield the end of the remote with my hand in between it and the tree, then it doesnât bother them. Sometimes I forget though. Itâs not enough of a hassle to dissuade me from purchasing more when the time comes. Theyâre just beautiful.) So many options for colors, color combos, settings for fading in/out, moving, flashingâ¦.I canât even begin to list them all. I have a patriotic tree that I leave up year round and specifically wanted red & blue lights on my new white tree. Theyâre such little bitty lights on the wire but theyâre absolutely beautiful and bright. Pics and video done by my cell phone distorts them. They are bold, pop against the white tree and give the entire tree a beautiful glow. I was worried by the negative comments on the frailty of the thin wires and tangling. Honestly we did not rush and less than half an hour to do so. No need to look any further. Great price and hopefully will last a very long time. I hate having to strip off all the ornaments to take off burned thru lights. Previously had a pre lit tree but lights fried in less than a year. Hoping these will last much longer. I agree that the plug ins are very large. I ran a surge protector along the baseboard to the back of the tree. Once the skirt is on and ornaments hung, youâll not even see them. 1 HUGE complaint: There are what seems like an infinite amount of buttons on the remote (1 per strand and I purchased the 2pk) and Iâve got to look for the instructions because I canât find them. Even if I do find them, itâs in very small print that I canât read even with my glasses. A QR code to complete instructions on the numerous functions of the remote would be a superb idea. If one exists, Iâd love to get a link. Iâm excited to figure out the timer. Hoping to extend the life of the lights by not having them on 24/7. Definitely recommend.

Works with WLED!
I purchased these, as well as the “Brizled Color Changing Fairy Lights” — as far as I can tell they are the same product. Get whichever is the most economical.These are pretty interesting lights: they’re bright, the colors are accurate and vibrant, and they are indeed individually addressable LEDs. The built-in effects are pretty good too! You get a handful of settings and the remote is full-featured. But the effects on offer definitely do not take full advantage of what’s possible with addressable LED strings… they should be capable of a lot more.If you do some searching you’ll find some info on the WLED forums about them. They use a proprietary chip that appears to be compatible with the standard WS2812 protocol, so it’s worth experimenting with a WLED controller.I used an ESP8266 mini board (cheap) with WLED flashed to it, reused the power supply from this set, and connected the data directly to a GPIO pin on the board. They lit right up and after entering the string length (200) everything worked just fine.Apparently, you can’t hook two of these strings end-to-end, as somehow the ID of each individual light is hard-wired into the light, unlike normal WS2812s, which index in the order the lights are chained. This means you can inject the data at any point on the line and it “just works.” If you want two strings, you need to have two segments in WLED, and two GPIO pins with independent data signals. You’d also want a bigger power supply anyway, so you probably don’t want to do multiple strings with one controller unless you know what you’re doing, and in that case you’re probably not hacking a cheap fairy light string, heh.What do you get for your trouble? WLED (look it up!) is capable of a wild number of effects and colors, as well as automating, synchronizing different strings, and more. It’s very powerful.Anyway, great success overall! I have a couple other WLED-powered strings around, so this means I can integrate this one into the effects. I love the different look and smaller lights this offers. So far they’re holding up well and it was a very affordable way to get 66 feet of lights.I put one string in my window with a WLED controller, but with this string, I made two battery-powered color changing lights for inside out pumpkins. Definitely a DIY project but very possible and these lights work great!

Versatile and very fun lights!
These lights are great! You can vary the color with the tap of an app. So many combinations and options. We have purchased 4 strands we love them so much. Ones on the house can stay up year round and we change the color based on the season/our mood. Highly recommend. One caveat: Sometimes the devices go offline, but I have found that if you close the app and try again (wait a few seconds for it to pair) it works. Patience pays off — these lights are really fun!

The lights are tiny but light up great, the ability to adjust the brightness is a plus as I’m not a big led fan. Wire is poseable and easy to decorate with a long. The colour options is super cool and the option to do different strobe combos, patterns and motions is pretty neat..not my jam but my kid digs it. Very rad lights, love it, buy it and enjoy.

I love these light, they are so pretty and have so many colors. I move too often so i didnt want to invest in LED strip lights as theyâre a one time use thing. I also wanted lights that I could hang in my vines, but also didnât want to just have the basic warm lights. Theyâre easy to set up, have so many color options and theyâre even prettier at night. I am highly impressed with my purchase.

Got them delivered Friday, theyâve been on for 3 days straight now and havenât a single issue with them yet. Theyâre super cool! The colours are vibrant, remote is âmehâ but it works well. I was hoping theyâd be a little brighter but for the size of the LEDâs and price Iâd definitely buy them again. Iâve strung them up on my ceiling for ultimate covid raves haha when turned off, the string is so thin you donât even see them.
