✔Operation
- An ultrasonic sound to repel animals. It is activated when an animal enters the motion detector range and then the animals feel uncomfortable and will run away from the area.
- Note: Ultrasonic frequencies are typically beyond the range of human hearing. If you do not hear any sound while the device is operating, especially in Modes 2 and 3, this does not mean the device is malfunctioning. It is working as intended; the ultrasonic sound is simply inaudible to humans. For best performance, please fully charge the device before first use and install it in a location with adequate sunlight.
- A LED flashing light to scare animals. The LED flashing light will be activated when an animal enters the area, then the animal will be scared and flee away. For better performance, an alarm sound is added to scare animals

- “Sensitivity” (Left): adjust the sensitivity and distance. By turning the knob clockwise, you increase the range of protection
- “Frequency” (Right): to adjust the frequency. By turning the knob clockwise, the frequency will be increased. “Frequency” Knob position comes as below:
- 1: 13.5-19.5 KHZ to repel animals such as deer, dogs, foxes
- 2: 14.5-24.5 KHZ to repel animals such as cats, raccoons, squirrels, badgers, skunks

Well Built & Provides Reliable Operation
The Broox Solar Animal Repellent seems well made and features 5 different modes along with adjustable sensitivity. Enclosed in the box is the repellent, two stakes, a USB charging cable, and a card with an email to register the repellent for a 5-year warranty and gift. The manual is fairly clear, but page 8 mentions a charging indicator light when charging the repellent via USB cable, which I could not locate on the repellent.I charged the repellent 8 hours per the manual and stuck it outside to do its job, which it does fairly well. The manual mentions the IP code of the repellent is IP44, meaning it will operate normally under normal rainfalls, but should be removed during a rainstorm. This is somewhat difficult to do during hot summer days due to pop-up thunderstorms that could occur while youâre away from home. There was one instance where a thunderstorm popped up while I wasnât home and the repellent was exposed to heavy rain, which didnât seem to affect it as it still works normally. I wouldnât recommend continuous exposure to heavy rain, and one review mentioned placing a quart-sized plastic food bag (perfect fit) over the Broox and zip the bag closed underneath on either side of the short stake, which apparently doesnât affect operation.The solar battery charging, replaceable batteries, and adjustable sensitivity are huge pluses. I test it weekly by doing a slow walk by and it alarms without fail. At lower sensitivity settings, it does not alarm for smaller animals like squirrels and small birds, and is not prone to false alarms like another repellent I purchased from Amazon which went off randomly and repeatedly from just the wind.I bought the Broox repellent to use in conjunction with a low height goose fence to help deter geese walk-ins. I use Mode 4 (flashing + alarm sound) with sensitivity at the lowest setting because I want to detect large slow-moving geese, not squirrels and other small birds which I welcome into my backyard. I had a small gaggle of about six geese apparently tripped the repellent, and they went about their business, as in they stayed out of my backyard. While the Broox repellent may have handled a small gaggle of geese, I have had gaggles upwards of 30 geese approach my backyard in the past, but not since I installed the Broox repellent. Whether it will scare off such a large gaggle remains to be seen. A larger gaggle may require a second repellent which I am considering.The Broox repellent Mode 3 emits ultrasonic frequencies between 20KHZ – 25KHz, which may prove useful in deterring geese. The prevalent school of thought is that birds cannot hear ultrasound. However, after doing a little research, I found that some birds, including geese, are able to perceive certain ultrasound frequencies. Dr. Philip Whitford, PhD, experimented with a goose in a lab environment by testing its’ reaction to a 22,000 (Hz) / 22Khz burst of sound. The goose toppled over instantly, became rigid, and the eyelids flickered open and closed. After the ultrasound stopped, the goose recovered and stood, seemingly unharmed. The experiment was repeated several times with the same results.The Broox repellent is a powerful tool which will help ward off unwanted animals in your yard.

Fun with Rodent Repellers!!!
Who knew how much fun one could have with Rodent Repellers! Bought two of these for two different homes. One for a midnight tom cat that caused ruckus with the inside cat at the back door. Didnât work on him no matter the dial setting, BUT they are working on an Aggressive Pit Bull keeping him well away from our property line. The owner is freaking thinking these are spy/listening devices even though I told him they are for the Raccoons which have stopped visiting, as well. Seems to be keeping the rats away which makes sense because the bait stations arenât as active anymore. Iâve been keeping mine on setting #1 for large animals. Its stealth mode that glows the sensor light green and works on humans making them doubt doing dumb stuff on your property when they notice it. The siren is loud and the flashing lights might not be a hit if you have close neighbors. Stealth Mode is best.

Perfect Repellent!
Iâm really impressed with this Broox animal repellent! Super easy to set up right out of the box, and it feels well made. The motion sensor is very sensitive, and the ultrasonic sound combined with the flashing light works perfectly to keep unwanted critters out of the yard. I love that itâs solar powered, so no need to worry about constantly replacing batteries. It blends nicely into the garden tooâhardly noticeable. Overall, great quality, effective, and totally worth it!

Effective & Reliable Deer Deterrence
SUMMARYThe Broox ultrasonic unit has been effective and robust in deterring deer for the past month of use. Previously, I purchased Kittmip (2 unit) ultrasonic animal repeller from Amazon. Both units failed after a short time, and Amazon replaced these under warranty. These new units, however, also failed after several weeks of use. After searching the internet and Amazon for a replacement, I decided to purchase the Broox brand ultrasonic repeller. After a month of use the Broox unit is still working well and appears to be keeping the deer away from my plants. I also concur with other customers who commented that the seller is very responsive. I highly recommend this product.BACKGROUNDI live next to a public park in the Berkeley Hills. Deer emerge from the park, at night, to seek foliage in the adjacent houses. I not infrequently see deer strolling down the street outside my apartment. I grow flowers and vegetables in containers in front of my apartment building. My garden has been regularly devestated by marauding deer. I’ve tried a number of strategies to deter the deer: companion planting (with smelly herbs), strong-smelling scent bombs, physical barriers – none completely successful. I sought some other, possibly more effective, alternatives by searching the internet. One of the suggested deterrents was ultrasonic animal repellent devices. These units seemingly were designed for larger spaces such as lawns, as compared to the relatively small area of my apartment frontage, but this would be an advantage, I thought.Having decided to try the electronic alternative, the task was to select a suitable device as there are many many units on offer in Amazon. I initially purchased a brand (Kittmip) that included two units, seemingly a bargain. The units were powered by three AA rechargeable batteries (included), and there was a solar panel on the top which supposedly charges the batteries during the day when the sun is shining. In practice, however, the batteries drained rather quickly despite my having substituted my own excellent 2400 mA Lada rechargeables (from Ikea) for the lower rated batteries included with the units. After the failure of the 4 Kittmip units, I decided to try the Broox as an alternative to the Kittmip. Mechanically it is very similar to the other device, also using 3 AA batteries with a solar charging pad. But, it seems, so far to be more reliable and the batteries last longer than the other unit. The seller is very helpful and responded to my questions. So far, i am very happy with my purchase and would recommend the Broox product.AFTERTHOUGHTMy neighbors commented that they were able to hear the sounds from (both of) the units, as a high-pitched buzzing. I rotated the frequency control dial until the sound was not audible. Apparently, children are also able to hear the sound. Oddly, dogs do not appear to notice the sound. Unfortunately, I am unable to hear any sound through the entire range, (being older than my neighbors) so cannot comment further.Note that I have NOT actually observed deer approaching my apartment then change course when they detect the ultrasound. My evidence is indirect: the plants in my garden have been untouched for months. In contrast, before purchasing the ultrasonic units, my garden was not infrequently savaged by deer. Perhaps, in future, I will keep vigil one night to satisfy my curiosity.

I live near a forest where there are many monkeys and they keep coming to our house to steal food and it was such a nuisance. I bought 5 of these and place at different locations around the house but it does not help. The monkeys still come and even get close to the device
