Way better bagging performance.
Bagging performance of this blade set is at least 50% better than the blade that came with my Ego mower. Super easy install, plenty sharp out of the box, it does what it says on the tin.There is a major hit to battery life however. I knew this when I ordered, but runtime is probably roughly halved with the 7.5 Ah battery. I only bag in the fall when dealing with leaf clean up and clipping collection for composting over the winter months . So while this does bag well, I will continue using the mulching blade the majority of the time.

Good OEM Blades
They’re what you’d expect; good blades. But check you mower’s model number and confirm the right set. I was surprised there were as many variations as there are.

The only real option for most lawn owners.
I have an older E-Go mower which came out just before the ‘high lift’ blade set came standard with the mower, and every year I have looked for this blade set only to find that it was out of stock again.  Finally got it 5 years later, and it gives my mower the suction that I was use to with my old gas mower that I had missed.  It does shave ~10-15 minutes off of my battery time, which unfortunately means that my lawn is impossible to mow on a single charge now… but I am so invested in E-Go equipment that I have 2 large batteries, and they charge faster than I discharge them, so it is never a real issue to take 2-3 minutes to get a drink and swap the battery before finishing the last 10-20 minutes of mowing.If you are bagging, or like to have a tall 4-5″ lawn then this is a MUST-HAVE blade for your mower.  With the stock ‘efficiency’ blades I could only reliably cut my lawn at ~2″ which is way too short where I live. The ‘bagging blade’ it came with allowed me to bag at ~2″, or cut without bagging at ~3″ which is just barely tall enough in my area where we have regular dry spells.  I typically cut my lawn at 4″, which often meant multiple passes with the stock blades to get a good result, or that I would cut at 3″ when I knew rain was coming and just let things get a little long if we didn’t get much rain for a week or two.  Now I can cut it at the height that I like in a single pass, no prob!  Should make bagging leaves a much easier process in the fall!

If you’re like me- and you purchased an Ego Select Cut lawn mower before they included this high lift blade, then it is worth every penny.I purchased the LM2135SP at the end of the summer last year. I was super excited about it! It had fantastic reviews, I love the idea of no more gas, no more oil changes, and no more worries about keeping up on maintenance. I totally bought into the idea of this lawn mower. Then… I used it. I was pretty disappointed. This mower had no suction or lift to pull the grass up for an even cut. I tried switching to the included mulching blade set- nothing. I was constantly frustrated by the uneven cut, and straggler lines of grass that the mower just straight up missed. I kept having to go back over second passes to clean up the poor job it did the first time. Which then messes up my lines and makes me sad.I had heard that on the older gen models that didn’t have the dual blades- using a high lift blade helped with this suction problem. But- Ego didn’t make one for their latest and greatest select cut mower! (At the time, or at least it wasn’t available here in the US.)I look again this spring, Finally! Spring of 2021, I ordered these blades, sharpened them up a bit, and attached them to my mower- SUCTION. It actually seemed to work nearly just as well as my gas mower. I wasn’t going back and having to clean up parts that it missed- it just pulled it all in and worked as it should have in the first place.I know ego advertises these blades to be used with the bagger attachment- but honestly I leave them on all of the time, because without them, the suction of this mower is absolutely abysmal. You need these blades for the mower to work properly, in my opinion.I’m finally happy with my purchase. I also recently learned that this year Ego started selling the select cut mower with this high lift set INCLUDED- which sort of frustrated me that they didn’t do that in 2020 when I purchased mine. Can I get a refund, Ego?I will admit- I did notice, the mower does to better with the non-“High Lift” Blades if you cut your grass pretty short. But, I cut my grass pretty tall- because it’s supposed to be better for it over the summer, and I like how it looks. When you have the deck up higher, the mulching and extended run time blades just straight up don’t work. The grass basically just bends over to get out of the way of these blades.I’m one of those weird people that really does enjoy mowing my lawn. I look forward to it every week- sometimes twice a week. This blade set allowed me to start enjoying it again.
