easy feeding win
These Haakaa hippo pouches are such a clever idea. The wide opening and included straws makes them super easy to fill. Iâm excited to try and make some homemade purees or yogurt to put in them but so far itâs been easy to fill them with apple sauce and smoothies. Cleanup is way simpler some other traditional reusable pouches Iâve tried because this one is so big and has a wide spout. I like that theyâre sturdy but still soft enough for little hands to squeeze. I can already tell these will save us from a ton of single-use pouches while still being really convenient for on-the-go. Definitely a practical, eco-friendly win.

Soft, Squishy Genius with a Slightly Overconfident Cap
I bought these Haakaa Hippo pouches because my toddler has the appetite of a lumberjack but the patience of a mosquito. On our first test run, I filled one up with applesauce, and my kid sat there happily slurping away like a baby hummingbird at a sugar feeder. I was impressed. The silicone is soft, squishy, and feels way nicer than those crinkly disposable pouches that make me feel like Iâm singlehandedly filling up a landfill. Now, hereâs the funny part. I decided to test its *travel performance* during a road trip. I loaded one pouch with a smoothie thinking Iâm a genius mom, packing healthy snacks. Ten minutes later I realized the pouch had developed a slow drip from the straw cap if the pouch is getting squeezed or not up right, which left my backpack smelling like day-old strawberry yogurt. Was it catastrophic? No. Did my husband nickname it âthe crime scene bagâ? Yes.That said, I will absolutely keep using these at home and on quick outings. The design is super thoughtful. The wide opening makes it easy to shovel in food without turning my kitchen into a Jackson Pollock painting. I love being able to buy a giant tub of applesauce and portion it into these instead of paying triple for those tiny disposable ones. And when I want to share treats like a milkshake, I just scoop some in and voila the toddler gets their portion without me feeling like Iâm handing over my entire dessert.Overall, if youâre looking for reusable food pouches that save money, cut waste, and keep your little one happily fed, this is a winner. Just maybe donât fill it with anything *too* liquidy unless you enjoy surprise laundry adventures.

Convenient for Homemade Baby Snacks
These reusable pouches are a smart option if you like preparing your own baby food or snacks. The wide opening makes them much easier to fill compared to some other styles, and cleanup is straightforward since you can reach inside to rinse everything out. The silicone feels sturdy and well made, so it doesnât seem like it will wear out quickly. The size is just right for toddlers, with enough room to hold a decent portion without being too bulky for little hands. The cap stays on securely, and there havenât been any leaks during use, which makes them practical for on-the-go snacks.Having two in a pack adds to the convenience, especially since they can be reused many times. Considering the durability and ease of use, it feels like a solid value for families who want to cut down on disposable pouches while still keeping mealtime simple.

Great pouches for applesauce
Quality product from a trusted brand. We try to avoid plastic so I love that these are silicone. Less waste since I can fill them from a big jar of organic applesauce and just wash and refill. They also include straws in case you want to fill with thinner things like smoothies, though they are not leak proof like a sippy cup so beware of potential mess. Very durable high quality product. They may seem overpriced but since they’ll last a long time I think they’re still decent value if you can make sure not to leave them at the park. My daughter figured them out immediately both with and without the straw. Good design, easy to fill since the opening is nice and wide. Also wide enough to clean with a bottle brush.

Great reuseable pouches. Easy to fill.
I was concerned about these being difficult to fill but that is not the case. The opening is wide enough to spoon in or pour in easily. It is also large enough to place a funnel if that is needed. The bottom is quite flat and even if it rocks a little, it wasn’t tipping over too easily. I also like that the side has measurements in case you are trying to keep track how much is consumed. The lids are on tightly but not so much that they are too hard to get off. I do not anticipate having these spill. The straw is a bit difficult to insert. I found that if I get it through just enough to pull it from the other side, it goes in much easier when pulled.

Can a reusable pouch be a lifesaver for snacks on the go?
I’m a parent, so I know the struggle of trying to find a good, reusable pouch for a toddler. I was looking for something that was easy to fill with homemade snacks and wouldn’t create a huge mess. When I saw this hippo pouch, I was immediately drawn to its wide opening and adorable shape. I was hopeful that it would be a game-changer for snack time. The pouches are fantastic. The wide opening makes it so easy to fill them with homemade purees, yogurts, and smoothies without any spills. The leakproof design and firm base are also huge plusses. I can throw them in a diaper bag without worrying about a mess. The only reason I’m giving it 4 stars is that the silicone material can feel a little flimsy, and the spout can be a bit tricky to clean without a straw brush.Beyond using it for food, I’ve found a couple of great unconventional uses for this pouch. I’ve used it to store watercolor paint for a fun, mess-free painting activity with my toddler. It’s a great way to get creative without a huge cleanup. I’ve also filled it with a cold smoothie to help my toddler cool down after being outside on a hot day.Overall, this is a great product. The wide opening, leakproof design, and versatility make it a must-have for a parent. While it’s not the easiest to clean, it’s a great product that simplifies feeding and is a good value. I would definitely recommend it.
