GENERATION 3 LAWN STRYPER: Includes a grooved roller for a more consistent stripe, cover, hardware, instructional manual, patterning guide, and a new bracketing system which is bigger, bolder and stronger. DRY sand must be added to the roller before use (not included with purchase).
Customers say
Customers find the lawn stryper works well, particularly with Ego Power Plus mowers, and appreciate its build quality and ease of assembly, noting it’s easy to attach to push mowers. The product creates clearly defined stripes in yards, with one customer mentioning it leaves their yard looking like a backfield. While many say it’s a great product for the money, opinions on value are mixed.

Works as expected
Could tell an immediate difference in the yard after using. Now, if I could only get my neighbors to care for their lawns..!

Customer service excellent
Works great! Set up wasnât to bad. However, the covers for the sand did not come with the pack. It actually still strips my lawn without weight. Called customer service. Called me back a few hours later, they rushed my caps to me. Super cool!! Didnât think they would get back to you since some do not. I was definitely wrong!

Stripes barely visible
The product was missing pieces the two red caps that keep the sand from falling out of the roller, just like other reviewers reported. I emailed him with the problem and my address and no response at all. But the caps did show up in the mail about a week or so later which was great. I filled it with masonry sand from a house being built down the road. I packed it in nice and tight and capped the other side. But the stripes are very difficult to see on my brand new Zoysia sod that is mowed at 2â. I appreciate the engineering of the clamp that holds it to the mower. It is a well built quality product. I guess it just doesnât work well on grass types with a tight canopy like my japonica Zoysia. Huge thumbs down for me, complete waste of two hundred dollars and Amazon will not refund my money.

Built better than expected!
Being described as being plastic, I wasn’t expecting much but was pleasantly surprised when it arrived. It’s thick and well constructed. It’s VERY important to read the directions to get the parts lined up correctly and if there’s one thing that’s the most important is DON’T tighten up anything real tight before you have it aligned. A sticker on the roller states to angle the rods toward the mower, but when I did that, I couldn’t open the grass catcher shute and the down rods could have been a little longer for my mower. All in all, after about 20-30 minutes rearranging the alignment, I got the grass catcher shute door to open and a slight angle to the supporting rods as instructed. As for the filling of the roller with sand, I had no problem what so ever. I got a bag of play sand, (which was sold indoors so nice and dry) put a funnel in the roller and kept scooping the sand pouring it into the funnel. After reading reviews about how difficult it was pouring in the sand, I found it no issue at all. As for how the unit works, again I was pleasantly surprised. My mower is NOT self-propelled so I thought it would be super tough pushing it, but again, I was surprised. Yes, it adds extra weight to push the mower, but the roller makes it much easier than I thought, even though it does take greater effort to push the mower. And as for stripping – WORKED GREAT! Time will tell concerning the durability of the plastic parts, but everything seemed well engineered and I liked it was made and assembled in the GOOD OLD U.S.AUPDATE- Having a tough time putting stryper on and off, I devised a connector utilizing a bolt, 2 plastic bolt sleeves, 3 washers and a medium size spring loaded clip that allowed the bolt to slip through the small opening of the clip without sliding through to the larger end. Just don’t over tighten the clip with the bolt , but rather let it have natural movement. So much easier to attach an remove the lawn stryper. See before and after pictures.

Excellent Customer Service from Steve…it just doesn’t leave lines like the pictures
First off I want to recognize Steve from Fairway lawns. My hook bent immediately on my first mow…I let him know and he sent another one immediately. He even offered a direct phone call (which I did not use). 5 Stars on Customer service. So you must be asking why only 3 stars? Well, because for $180 one should expect a decent set of results no matter how superfluous the purchase. Especially with some of the included review pictures. That just isn’t my case. I purchased this attachment for a Ego LM2130SP Power+ 21 Inch Select Cut that mows a lush Colorado lawn. I mow my grass relatively high (4-5) and there is only the faint semblance of lines. I’ve tried damp and dry with no change. I’ve packed and pounded with a dead hammer and funnel to try and get more dry play sand in here. I weighed the piece at 5 pounds prior to adding sand and was able to add about 11 pounds to get to 16. The instructions say it needs between 16 and 20 and I just don’t know how that’s possible. I figure weight is what the problem is but its as good as I can get it. Perhaps some additional after market weights that fit around the end would be appropriate.UPDATE 7/2023: To test my theory I added an 8 pound weight I had laying around and now it leaves much better lines. To be fair this electric model of Ego mower does not have the suction power that other gas models possess. That could also be another reason why the Ego owners don’t seem to see much here.UPDATE 8/2023: I’ve settled on a 10 lb weight that sits on top of this. That seems to provide the best results so far. Its still not $180 results but good enough for now.

Always wondered how to get this look.
My lawn is recovering from an irrigation system install. But I can see the promise of how the striping will look.I always struggle with assembly instructions and this was no different. Word of advice, included are multiple adaptors or inserts for most all mowers. Find the 4 that fit your handle bars. The rest is easy.

It Works Great Even with Worx
I bought this knowing it wasnât compatible with Worx lawn mower. I just used clamps to hold it at correct pitch to mower and it works just fine. Definitely should add compatibility for Worx in future though.Very easy to assemble minus putting the sand in the roller. That was the worst part of the whole experience as you canât get a very big funnel in three so just takes long time. After that you are ready to roll.I think picture I uploaded does great justice of how well this product works. I didnât even bag this and had mulch plug in. (It is compatible with bag also)You do need to mow twice for best results, but if you mow in same direction for a couple weeks Iâm sure grass would bend easier with just one mow.Overall great product. People think I have commercial work done to my lawn.

This is a well built product and works really well. The picture attached was on the first use in my backyard, and this is without loading it up with sand because I needed to dry out the sand before loading it up.My electric ryobi did not leave any sort of stripes before the attachment was added.
