If you’ve been looking for a high power Apple Watch charger that’s as good as the original – stop – It’s here!I’ve been looking for a charger for a while which matches the performance of the original Apple product, many claim that they’re high power, but in my experience few are.The original charger with my Ultra tops out at 5W. The best I’ve got with 3rd party charging pucks so far is 2W. This charger not only looks like a doppleganger of the orginal product; braided wire, large USB C connector (to house electronics), very similar puck (just 2mm thicker), but it also charges like it too! Yes, this one does what it says on the tin, charges like the original Apple high power charger at a fraction of the price (£9.99 at the time of review).I’ve only used this for a few hours to be fair, long enough to conduct some power tests, so there may well be some issues which arise with further use, but I was so pleased to have finally found a high power charger, that I felt compelled to post this review early :).

Die neueren Modelle der Apple Watch sind dafür gedacht, dass man sie auch nachts trägt. Dadurch verkürzt sich das Zeitfenster, das für das Aufladen zur Verfügung steht. Apple liefert darum bei den neuen Uhren ein Ladegerät mit, das ein schnelleres Aufladen unterstützt.Die meisten Ladegeräte von Drittanbietern sind aber noch auf dem Stand der früheren Uhren und unterstützen nur das langsame Aufladen. Hier erhält man für einen günstigen Preis ein Ladegerät, das auch das Schnell-Laden unterstützt.Bei mir funktioniert es gut; das Laden geht eindeutig schneller als mit einem älteren Ladegerät. Den Unterschied merkt man deutlich.Natürlich funktioniert das Teil auch mit älteren Apple Watches; diese werden dann eben mit konventioneller Geschwindigkeit geladen.Man sollte noch daran denken, dass das Schnell-Laden nur bis zu einem Ladestand von 80% funktioniert; danach geht es langsam weiter. AuÃerdem benötigt man ein Netzteil mit 20 Watt Leistung, um mit 5 Watt laden zu können, warum auch immer â¦

The external build quality of this charger is great. Metal outer casing, braided cable, all-metal USB plug. Cable is long too.On an older generation Apple Watch, the magnetism matched that of the original/OEM charger, and fitted perfectly well (as shown in the photo). I donât know if Apple have changed the shape of the watch backs between each series – but certainly for my wifeâs watch, it fitted perfectly.I was unable to confirm/test the 5W charging rate, as my wife’s Apple Watch is not the latest generation (the 5W charging compatibility is explained on the product description page), however – I was able to confirm that the highest possible charge rate from our original Apple charger was less than 2/3rds that of this product’s. On average, the original OEM charger gave half the rate. So as per my second photo, this charger could sustain a 0.3A charge rate – occasionally dropping to 0.19A (which still exceeded the maximum of the original Apple charger in my testing).The watch was 50% charged at the time, so I would expect it to charge at maximum rate.

Ich finde das Apple Watch Ladegerät ziemlich gut, vor allem dass das die Isolierung des Kabels gewoben ist, was eine gute Verarbeitung impliziert. Die Länge des Kabels ist gut, für mich persönlich jedoch etwas zu lang, aber das variiert ja je nach Einsatzbereich, von daher alles gut. Das einzige, was mich etwas stört und wofür es einen Stern Abzug gibt ist, dass der Magnet, der die Watch auf dem Ladegerät hält, nicht so stark ist wie der vom originalen Apple Ladegerät. Dadurch rutscht die Watch schnell mal runter, was auf Dauer etwas nervig sein kann. Aber in Summe 4/5 Sterne, absolut in Ordnung.

Als erstes ist mir die sehr gute Verarbeitung der Ladestation aufgefallen. Alles sehr sauber zusammengebaut. Der Lade-Puck aus Aluminiumlegierung ermöglicht eine bessere Wärmeableitung. Auch das sehr lange, ca. 2 Meter lange Kabel, macht einen sehr wertigen Eindruck. Dieses Kabel ist sehr flexibel und hat eine geflochtene Ummantelung.Das Lade-Ergebnis ist mehr als beeindruckend und das obwohl, sich die Uhr als auch der Lade-Puck, nicht besonders erwärmen! Einzig der USB-C-Stecker, der im Netz-Ladegerät steckt wird warm/heià aber gerade noch im Rahmen. Ich habe in der Spitze fast 8 Watt gemessen. Diesen Wert, hat bei mir, bisher kein getesteter Lade-Puck erreicht! Verwendet habe ich hierbei ein 20 Watt PD-Ladegerät. Ein Ladegerät liegt nicht bei, dies ist aber in der Produktbeschreibung klar ersichtlich! Der Ladestrom wird kontinuierlich angepasst (zwischen 0,2W und 8W) und geregelt. Lediglich der als sehr stark angepriesene Magnet könnte, so meine ich, noch ein wenig stärker sein. Hier ist der vom Original (Apple) doch noch um einiges kräftiger.Ladezeit von 22% bis 80% ca. 52 Minuten.Mein Fazit: Super Schnellade-Puck der seinen Namen alle Ehre macht! Klare Kaufempfehlung von mir!
