I used to have a Ring doorbell, but I was unhappy about the lack of local storage and having to pay for access to my own videos. Night Owl offered a good price and the features I wanted. I’ve been using it for months and it’s perfect. I get notifications when someone approaches the door, access to all my videos all the time, for no additional cost. It even works with my existing door chime. I’m very happy with this product.

NOT worth your time, money or frustration
ABSOLUTELY the worse video doorbell! It does not stay connected to the internet (I’m told by the Tech Support – you need to connect to your internet). It randomly drops connection and then announces “your firmware is up to date, your doorbell is ready for use” – and repeats that constantly. I’ve logged out, reconnected, restarted my router, called tech support NUMEROUS times and nothing changes. I wish I could give it a negative star and I wish when you call tech support from the US, you get someone that is easier to understand than the people I’ve talked to. Very Frustrating and I’m getting a completely different company unit even though this is 9 months old.

I recently installed the Night Owl doorbell camera, and Iâm really impressed with its performance. The video quality is crystal clear, both during the day and at night, thanks to the excellent night vision feature. The two-way audio allows me to communicate easily with visitors, which adds an extra layer of convenience.Setting up the camera was straightforward, and the app is user-friendly, providing real-time alerts and easy access to recorded footage. Good Product but Needs better Support
The equipment itself seems to be operating as intended. Decent picture, alerts you win triggered. Two-way communication is not the best and definitely needs improvement. Giving it two stars though because of night owls customer support. It’s terrible. I had an issue with the way this tied into my existing doorbell system, no issue of the doorbell itself. Contact night owl several times, customer service, pre-sales and warranty department. They have Representatives that don’t seem to know the products and don’t focus on the issue at hand. If you call in don’t expect for anyone to answer. Best you can do is put in a call back and wait 30 to 60 minutes to talk to someone. Went ahead and submitted this review even though the original problem still exists. I have had other instances in the past and communicated with night owl on other products and I’ve never been wowed by their customer service. Again, satisfied with product so far but support side needs massive Improvement.

Great upgrade without monthly fees
my old doorbell camera was several years old and picture quality degraded. My doorbellâs wiring had a fault. It would support the doorbell, but not ring the chime. This fixed both issues. Note that unlike some other cameras, Night Owl does NOT charge a monthly fee for connectivity!

Not a very good doorbell cam
Doorbell cam worked fine at first. Then right after the return period ended it started acting up. People just appear and then disappear mid recording. Does not pick up small animals very well either compared to the blink doorbell cam.
