I’m the star right winger for the Vancouver Vipers, an unstoppable force, fast as lightning.
It’s my dream come true, and I’ve worked my whole life to get here. I don’t plan on giving it up, but if I want to keep playing hockey, I’m going to need all my limbs. To ensure my body parts stay intact, I only need to follow one simple rule: don’t touch my captain’s little sister.
Seems easy enough. She’s snarky and bossy and has a mouth like a sailor. Truthfully, I’m bordering on the edge of terrified when she’s around.
The problem is I’ve seen too much. Too much of her, inside and out. And now? Now I want more.
But she’s my best friend’s little sister, and nobody’s ever been as off limits as Jennie Beckett is to me.
Her collection of toys is impressive, but I plan on showing her how a real man can make her vibrate without all the batteries. These hands can handle a hockey stick; surely they can handle her.
C’mon, Jennie. Play with me.
Play With Me is the second book the Playing For Keeps series but it can be listened to as a standalone. It is a mature hockey romance that contain lots of heat, swoon, laughs, and a ride on an emotional roller coaster!

Play With Me was an entertaining and steamy hockey romance book. While, this can be read as a standalone it is part of an interconnected series, Playing for Keeps. So I would recommend just reading the prior book first for better context and backstory on certain characters. It is dual POVs of the main characters (Garrett Andersen and Jennie Beckett) and has some great tropes like: brotherâs best friend, friends with benefits and close proximity. I would suggest checking the content and trigger warnings before reading just in case. The overall premise was wonderful, but I will say that it did take me a bit to fully get into the story as it was a bit slow in the beginning. There were some amusing, sweet, angsty and heartbreaking moments as well, that I absolutely loved. The portrayal and discussions regarding grief, loneliness and self acceptance were beautifully written and handled as well. The one downside of this book was that there was a lot of repetitive dialogue and it definitely could have been shorter. The romance between Garrett and Jennie was absolutely beautiful. I loved their connection, banter and chemistry. Garrettâs respect and understanding of Jennieâs feelings and limitations was handled beautifully as well. The spice was also quite incredible as a lot of toys were used!Jennieâs backstory definitely made me tear up. Completely understandable why she was so afraid to let someone in and why her brother was so protective and overbearing as well. I loved her character development and overall journey but there were a few aspects that could have been more discussed upon in my opinion. While, there necessarily wasnât a third act conflict there was some miscommunication between them. The ending was a bit rushed as well, but still a wonderful conclusion and epilogue.Overall, just a delightful read!

Mack is exceptional yet again!
All hail Beck Mack, Queen of Hockey Romances, Witty Chapter Titles, and Soft-Top Book Boyfriends. And sheâs back folks, gracing us with the second book in the Playing For Keeps series: Play With Me.We follow Jennie Beckett as she falls into an unexpected friends with benefits situation with Garrett Andersen. Jennie is the little sister of Carter, the over-the-top, golden retriever hockey captain from book 1, Consider Me. Sheâs faced with the very raw and real feelings of being in the shadow of her superstar brother and sheâs constantly questioning if the people in her life are a result of her relation to Carter. Meanwhile, Garrett is the Viperâs star right-winger who always manages to find himself tongue-tied around his bffâs captivating little sister and knows itâs in the best interest of his sanity and safety to stay away. And yet, once they become neighbors, Jennie and Garrett find that these obstacles canât stop their sizzling chemistry. If you are on the hunt for a hilarious rom-com filled with tons of Found Family moments and delectable spicy scenes, then be ready to move this book to the top of your TBR. Mack crafts laugh-out-loud dialogue that she balances with honest and emotional character growth. And donât get me started on how swoon-worthy Garrett is in the bedroom. This man may be a total cinnamon roll in his daily life, but behind closed doors, he is a dominant king who sees toys as his pleasure allies and is able to empower Jennieâs boundaries without question. But my biggest obsession with this book is that we get the honor and the pleasure of witnessing Jennie and Garrett not only fall in love but also build an unshakeable friendship. In fact, all of the found family friendships in this book are a testament to Mackâs talent for bringing dynamic characters to life. Come for even more Carter shenanigans and Hank wisdom, stay for Jennie and Garrett’s perfection, and stay tuned for my baby Adamâs storyâ¦

Hockey romance book
âBut what if falling in love is when being with that person is better than the comfort of the solitude?âBook: Play with Me (Playing for Keeps book 2)Author: Becka MackStars: âï¸âï¸âï¸âï¸âï¸Spice: ð¶ï¸ð¶ï¸ð¶ï¸ð¶ï¸Jennie is the last person on planet earth Garrett should be attracted to. Sheâs his best friend’s sister and he values his life and all his limbs. But when she moves into his building, all rational thinking goes out the window. What starts as a mutual agreement between friends starts to become much more and neither of them know how to handle this unexpected change in plans.Garrett and Jennie are what dreams are made of. Holy crap! These two have such a beautiful, fun, and endearing relationship from the very beginning. The way they are each other’s best friends is so stinking cute!! 𥹠I related to Jennie so strongly in this book that I was tearing up several times throughout this read! She and I are best friends in another lifetime someplace, I know it. And Garrett is actual perfection! The way he goes from shy and sweet to a dirty talking, take charge man is what ladies like myself dream about ð¤¤I will recommend this book to anyone who will listen for the foreseeable future. The plot is captivating, the characters are so lovable, and the way Becka found a way to still make this a spicy read while the characters still uphold their boundaries is so well done. We also get to see our favorite characters from book 1 which we always love! Vancouver Vipers for life baby!! Garret’s and Jannie’s story was my absolute favorite from the series so far. While still extremely funny as Consider Me and beautifully heartfelt and emotional as Unravel Me, Play with me is just a little bit more than that. Both Garret and Jannie are beautiful, carrying, talented, funny humans who complement each other so well. Their love story in genuine, beautiful and fun, and makes you fall in love with them within first 50 pages. They support each other, they love each other, they make each other laugh, they make each other seen. This is one of those books where no scene or page feels like extra and the last page makes you say “yes, this is it”. This was one of my favorite reads of 2023, rereads included.Anybody who is fun of sport romance, found family, true emotions and a lot of laughter – this ones for you.

I enjoy a lot reading about this duo: they are 50% hilarious and 50% adorable. They share a Beautiful bond and reading about how It was formed and how It changed, so naturally, was my favorite part.I had low expectations about this one, I admit at first I wanted to read It so I could read Adam’s storyð , but I was hooked in the middle: loving every mondane moments Garrett and Jennie share in the secret while they become best friends first and lovers after.I totally recommend this One!!
