Good enough for most caulk tasks
I think this is a perfectly fine tool for removing caulk around a bathtub or sink, but it couldnât handle removing old exterior window caulk. I was able to do one large exterior window before the screws broke off and there was no putting it back together.

Makes A Hard Job Easy
Makes a hard job easy. I highly recommend this product. I used Goo Gone Caulk Remover to loosen up the old caulk and then used the supplied scraper to remove the old caulk. Next I used the silicone tips supplied in the kit to smooth out the new caulk. My kitchen backsplash is a decorative tile with a lot of nooks and crannies and the silicone tips really make it easy to get a smooth bead. My wife had her doubts about my skill level. When she saw my completed job she gave ma an A+

Does not leave a smooth finish.
I will be returning this item. I had such high hopes, but alas it was not to be. The concept of this item is great… slice through existing caulk and scrape off. Then, use the included tips (of different sizes) to leave a clean finish. The scraper, made of hard plastic, started to wear away on the very first use. The metal blade was efficient, but also left jagged edges on the preexisting caulk, leaving more work to clean and prep for re-caulking. The tips had a steep learning curve, and it was easier to use my finger to get the finish that I wanted. The caulking tip also tended to slide down the tool when applying pressure. The position of the handle causes it to slide over the scraper and there is no lock to keep it in place. I tried tightening the screws, but that did not work. Clean-up was also unnecessarily difficult as the caulk became trapped under the sliding tip tool. I had to disassemble the tool to clean it properly. I really like the brand (I have several Saker tools), but this one did not live up to the hype.

It essentially works as advertised. It does not do quite as good of a job as I would like in removing old caulking. With that being said, I do not know of any tool better than it.

metal scraper scars wood sills better than removing the old caulk. plastic scraper sort of works but edge wears down too fast. Ended up using my metal gasket scrapper-far better results!!
