How do I enable Parking Mode?
Power the dash cam via hardwiring, OBD-II, or iVolt battery. Connect to the app via Wi-Fi or Bluetooth, go to Dash Cam Settings > Record Settings, and select your preferred Parking Surveillance mode.
Which THINKWARE Mobile App should I use?
Download the THINKWARE DASH CAM LINK app to review footage and adjust dash cam settings.
Why won’t my dash cam connect to the app?
Make sure your phone’s Wi-Fi and Bluetooth is on, and you’re connected to the dash cam. Disconnect Apple CarPlay or Android Auto, as they can block the connection. If the issue persists, please contact our support team for help.
My Thinkware dash cam will not power on.
Test with a 12V car charger cable. If it powers on, check your hardwiring cable, OBD-II cable, or iVolt battery for a loose connection. If you don’t have a 12V car charger or the dash cam doesn’t power on, contact our support team for help.
How do I reset my dash cam?
Hold the REC and MIC buttons at the same time until the device begins to beep. The dash cam will then restart, reverting to default, which will erase the microSD card and all recording footage. Be sure to save all crucial footage beforehand.

Must have for every vehicle on the road
I am very impressed with this setup. I have for the longest time owned a mediocre dash cam that had a screen of its own so it gave me a peace of mind that it was recording and that I can check live what was being recorded. I was kind of weary that this had to use a phone to view videos but decided to give it a try.Here are my impressions:1. The clarity of the files is like night and day compared to my old 1080p dash cam. Although the included 64gb is kind of a joke when you are recording such high quality videos, that is easily solved now with a decent quality micro sd that is so cheap compared to even 5-8 years ago. so get one that is much larger size if you get this cam.2. Having a rear view camera is a game changer since you are not locked into just the front or just the rear view. Both front and back can be recorded and should be recorded with this set up but again, get a larger size memory card.3. The included cables are all long enough for a full size SUV so it should not be the limiting factor for sedans and trucks a like.4. Although the app can be finicky like any app on a phone, it works well most of the time and it may be my equipment that is causing the issue so that is up to your phone and how you use it.5. If you prefer not to use the 12v cigarette lighter plug, you have an option to tap directly into your power circuit via included cables. I prefer to use the 12v jack so I cannot attest to it but others on this review list have done it so I know it works.6. If you are ok with handy things, running the cables into the trim and hiding it is easy to do. It is fairly straight forward installation so just take your time and you should be good to go in 1-2 hours max even with light electrical work.All in all, this is a great set up whether you are looking to catch something specifically or to generally guard your safety and have a witness onboard 24-7.I love it.

Six months later, it’s caught two parking incidents and saved me from a fraudulent insurance claim.The 4K front camera quality is exceptional – license plates are crystal clear even at night. The 2K rear cam surprised me with how well it captures details through my tinted rear window. The HDR really shines when exiting parking garages into bright sunlight – no blown-out footage like my old dashcam.Parking mode is crucial for EV owners. While charging at public stations, the motion detection has captured several close calls with careless drivers. The impact detection is sensitive enough to catch door dings but not so touchy that wind sets it off. Energy saving mode means it doesn’t drain my 12V battery during long airport trips.Installation in my i3 was straightforward. The hardwire kit tapped into the fuse box cleanly, and the cables tucked perfectly behind the BMW’s trim pieces. The supercapacitor design gives me peace of mind – no lithium battery concerns in summer heat or winter cold. The thermal protection already kicked in once during a 95-degree day, shutting down safely rather than damaging components.The app connectivity works well for quick footage reviews while waiting at chargers. GPS speed overlay has been helpful for proving I wasn’t speeding during a close call. The red light camera alerts are accurate in my area, though sometimes lag by a second.Minor complaints: The voice alerts can be loud at startup. File sizes are massive – the included 64GB card fills up in about 8 hours of 4K recording.For any luxury EV owner, this provides essential protection. Already paid for itself.
