Laura W Miller –
Outstanding Book!
Outstanding book. My teen picked it up immediately and it sparked a great conversation about screens and brain development and how parents and kids can partner in understanding and supporting each other. This is a must read for parents or anyone who interacts with, cares about, or cares for youth. It is highly relevant in this moment in our world!

Practical advice for an overwhelming problem
So many parents worry about their teens and how to manage screen time. Who hasn’t worried that they are ruining their child’s life by being too strict/not strict enough? Erin Walsh delivers practical advice on parenting teens in a changing world. This book is grounded in science, providing evidence based strategies that are implementable for real people from a variety of backgrounds. Perhaps more importantly, you can tell that this author has compassion for both teens and parents. You never feel shamed for not doing things exactly right, but rather are encouraged to approach parenting with curiosity and solve problems collaboratively. She also seems to really love teenagers and their amazing brains, which you don’t always find in books like this! It is easy to read and will truly change how you view teens and technology, and leave you feeling empowered. A must read!
Katie Nissly –
HIGHLY RECOMMEND this book for caregivers of adolescents age 13-25!
As a parent, I have so many questions and insecurities about how to manage “screen time” and help my kids develop skills in this digital world. There is so much scary information out there that makes me wonder if I’m doing it all wrong.I found this book so reassuring, evidence-based, and CONCRETELY USEFUL. I appreciated how the author offers additional ways to consider how I nurture my children, rather than just frightening me with all the risks of online adolescent life. She gives practical REAL LIFE examples, including language suggestions for how to engage my kids around these dilemmas. I am left feeling more capable, informed, relaxed, and hopeful as a parent. It’s also read-able, and extremely well-organized, not dry and hard to get through like some non-fiction books.

Highly recommend!
This book is a must read! In a time when parenting decisions around technology often feel fraught, Erin Walsh offers a moderate, non-judgemental and collaborative approach. I cannot recommend this book enough!

Worth your time and money
An extraordinary and valuable resource. Avoids the usual common fearmongering, in favor of concrete and practical strategies that engage the whole family. This volume deserves to be read and reread.
Sarah Hardy –
Should be at the top of every parent’s reading list!
I am a parent educator, and this book is terrific resource. As I was reading, I folded the corners of pages I wanted to come back to…. and nearly every tenth page is marked! Erin Walsh weaves her knowledge about adolescent development, the current landscape of media and technology opportunities and pitfalls, and realism together in this very compassionate and practical guide for parents. I especially love the “Reflect” and “In Action” sections for actionable, spot-on takeaways. It’s Their World is a wonderful addition to the canon regarding Parenting, Adolescence, and Media and Technology and should be at the top of every parent’s reading list!
Anne Walsh –

This book is the guide we all need.
Erin Walsh is my GO-TO expert on all things parenting, technology, and navigating the challenges of this unique and fraught time! And this book is exactly why: in it, Erin gently guides us as adults in the most grounded, researched, and compassionate way away from FEAR – and towards compassion and connection. (I have been so looking forward to this book that I pre-ordered THREE TIMES just to make sure I would get the book! Now I get to share two with fellow parents on this journey!) Mostly: I’m grateful for Erin’s voice in this noisy world. She is the guide we all need.
